Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does any one know the correct apart #s for the Cap top hook caps for the left right and center? They are plastic sleeves that fit over the left, right and center hooks. Missing my left one, right one is cracked and the center hook cover is also cracked. Caused an issue today with my top not being able to open or close all the way. I have it working now, but would like a permanent fix. Not sure these are correct part #s as Sunset states they are DC'd. I believe they came out with different caps to fix a top rattling issue but haven't been able to locate the part #s. http://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/po...position=right Thanks.

POST 2Original post

There is a fix for the center hook, but I don't remember what it is. Do a search here and on Renntech.

POST 3Original post

I believe this is the number for the centre hook cover. I replaced mine last year. 996 561 787 00 01C

POST 4Original post

Here's a source for the "hook" or latch arm cover. You don't need to remove the mechanism from the car to replace the hook cover. Just cut the old one off and glue the new one in place http://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Inf...VSVSI=896#tab1 Sunset also has it: http://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/oe...9965617870101c There is a TSB (#6110) from Porsche for replacing the left and right "pegs" or "centering posts" that engage the cabriolet top with the windshield frame. The text of the TSB (Tech Service Bulletin from Porsche) and the new part numbers (left and right) can be found in post #8 here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...-properly.html The part numbers listed in that thread may have changed, though. Sunset Porsche's website lists different numbers for the pegs, and they don't show availability for the peg covers at all. http://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/au...omponents-scat I would call Sunset Porsche.
