Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know of a kit for recovering the hardback seats? I have seen several for the standard 996 seats, but haven't found any for the hard backs. I have considered having a local guy redo them, does anyone have experience with this? how tricky is it with the part that snaps in on the edge of the hardback? can that part be bought or do I have to cut them out of the old covers? (I'll do as much as I can my self) Im thinking while im at it Ill wrap them in a brushed titanium vinyl.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

no one here has ever recovered their hardbacks??

POST 3Original post

I used to have them, but haven't recovered them. If your taking it to shop they should be able to figure it out. Also take parts diagram to show fasteners. I would think you pull on the lower center and pull out .

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

anyone else report their experience? especially since the way the cover attaches to the seat, was that an issue at all?? I found that cheap place that does custom covers online Lseat.com with a lot of negative reviews and some "ok" reviews. anyone here use the specifically for the hard backs?? wondering if i can send them the leather i choose and have them do it.

With so many bad reviews, why would you? Take them to your local upholstery shop and get a quote.
