Not sure I see the "rear end" damage or agree with its estimated value but looks clean with nice options

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

Since it is being flipped, they probably "fixed it" as inexpensively as possible.

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 2Original post

Did Copart repair this car and now offering it for sale? Also, doesn't look like a factory Aero. Confusing...

POST 3Original post

Copart isn't just wrecked vehicles. It's also bank repossessions, dealers selling excess/unwanted inventory, etc. The car could have been a trade-in at a dealer who didn't want to resell a branded title car.

Understood, so the rear end damage could be a mistake? Reserve looks high for what it is.

POST 5Original post

I was thinking the "rear end" damage could just as easily be a blown engine.

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 15858772

Says runs and drives. Maybe a Texas flood victim?

POST 7Original post

It does have a salvage title.

POST 8Original post

its being flipped....likely improved....It sold for $8500 3 months ago

POST 9Original post

It wouldn't surprise me if the $13.2k bid is from the owner (shill bid). Since it is being flipped, they probably "fixed it" as inexpensively as possible.

POST 10Original post

Rear end damage 'witness marks' are the painted metal strip that attaches the top of the bumper cover by 4 screws (between rear lights, It's normally black), no insignia on the back and also the non-factory exhaust tips. Sill covers are 996.2 Aero so not factory fitted. Rear wing is the smaller aerokit version as opposed to the gt3 aerokit, could well be factory fitted but I don't know how the factory one looks on the inside. Rubber seal is missing from engine cover Factory Carrera rear wing: Front bumper cover shows painted cover of center radiator which would be black in stock form. Silver seat backs on a red car makes me think they were swapped out.

POST 11Original post

Look for people that have actually used copart. Unless you have a dealer license in the state of the vehicle, plan to pay another 2k in fees and taxes. In my research its cheaper to wait for a person to person car you want instead.

The Copart car looks like someone found the wing and tried to mount it on the cheap. A you can see on my lid, there is a plastic cover that goes over the rectangular opening by the latch. They get brittle from engine heat and crack apart. I'm not surprised they didn't replace it because depending where you buy it, it's between $200.00 & $260.00. Also the mounting flanges for the wing on the Copart car are incorrect. As you can see on mine, they're supposed to be triangular shaped. The correct ones are $80.00 each so I assume they just bodged something together. The Copart wing is only being held on by those those two funky homemade ones. There is supposed to be one more large bolt on each side below them.

POST 13Original post

It’s an interesting car as long as it doesn’t go beyond its current bid of roughly $12k. It runs and drives too

POST 14Original post

I'd say the rear end damage statement was correct. I'm pretty sure the rear bumperettes on the 99 would have been dark gray - not body colored. The back has been repainted as was the front aero bumper cover which is why the center is red (as was previously pointed out by hardtailer. Still, as long as its mechanically sorted, if could be a nice deal for someone depending on the reserve. Those hardback sport seats do not come cheap. And it's definitely been lowered, so it has some suspension work done.
