Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
Mine acted similar and it turned out to be the alternator.
Leading evidence: 'alternator' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'alternator' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace alternator' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Hi, again, I've just replaced the battery and noticed the voltage would start from ~13V when cold and after driving the car for a few minutes, it drops to ~12V and stays there, just very slightly after ~12V, the meter suggests 12.3v.

You can also use the same tool to measure the voltage drop from the alternator to the battery or "+" engine jump start terminal in the engine bay.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is this at idle or does the voltage climb as you are increasing engine speed and it still stays at 12.3 ? Leaving the headlamps on with engine off will take some of the surface battery charge, then start and run it and hold throttle about 2k+ rpm and see if voltage climbs. A charging system may not put put out a heck of a lot at idle
Where are you measuring the voltage? Are you using a meter or the dash? I would use a meter if you are not, report where you are measuring it and let us know the voltage readings.
Possible Y cable corrosion or alternator. Mine acted similar and it turned out to be the alternator. Replaced the Y cable at the same time and it was in pretty bad shape.
The voltage is metered and also at 3000 rpm. No increase in voltage. The funny thing is it started out 13v at idle when cold. Only comes down to 12v when driven a while (like a few miles). The alternator was replaced 4 yrs ago tho.
Thanks.
You are measuring right from the alternator terminals? That's the best place to confirm voltage. There's a thread that discusses how to do that, I thing Ashai responded to my problem six months ago on how to do that. Could still be the alternator or the Y cable.
You need to make a hook from a stiff INSULATED wire so you can probe the back of the alternator to measure its output directly. If the output is ~13v at cold start idle, your alternator is bad. It should be ~14.5v at the output of the alternator.
You can also use the same tool to measure the voltage drop from the alternator to the battery or "+" engine jump start terminal in the engine bay.
