Suggestion

You could replace the door woofer with more of a true subwoofer driver like Tang which will definitely put out more deep bass, but in my experience, a deeper sub driver is too much for the door enclosure (it will rattle when pushing deeper bass).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have HAES speaker for doors and want to upgrade it. Is the OEM Bose speaker better than OEM HAES speaker?

POST 2Original post

Quotes source post: 15874243

In my opinion, the HAES door speaker (woofer) is very good for what it is. The factory dash and rear speakers are total crap, construction-wise -- made with cheap paper cones, but for some reason the door woofers are actually really well made and sound good. I believe the woofers are also 2 ohm, so not easy to find a replacement (not sure about the impedance of the Bose). I don't think there is anything wrong enough with the HAES woofer to replace it with the Bose. You could replace the door woofer with more of a true subwoofer driver like Tang which will definitely put out more deep bass, but in my experience, a deeper sub driver is too much for the door enclosure (it will rattle when pushing deeper bass). A true subwoofer driver will also have less seamless integration with the main speakers. both because a true sub driver will tend to have less upper bass output (needed because the mains put out very little low bass) and because the volume level of the sub driver (typically 4ohm) will be less than the 2ohm factory woofer given the way the factory amps are balanced with the expectation of 2ohm woofers. I believe the best answer is to leave the factory door woofer, and try to find a place to hide a sub if you need deeper bass. I do NOT know if they fit under the seat a 996 , but under-seat subs are pretty cool -> Amazon Amazon I'm using a pair of those low profile subs hidden in the ceiling joists of my basement for "stealth" bass and they put out a lot of bass for a large area (I'm powering them with a 12volt power supply). They would rock a 996 cabin, but I don't know if they fit. .

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sounds perfect~ That's all I wanted to know. I should change the front and rear, not the door speaker. Thanks.
