Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

But average replacement tires are less efficient, meaning that consumers often lose mileage and range when they replace their tires.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What? Here we go again. Supposed to save fuel and corresponding emissions -- from a state the planned to finish the high speed railroad by 2020?

The tires that come on new cars are typically designed to give drivers better fuel mileage. But average replacement tires are less efficient, meaning that consumers often lose mileage and range when they replace their tires. These cost-saving standards are designed to ensure that replacement tires are at least as energy efficient, on average, as tires sold on new vehicles.

"There are some exclusions to the new rules, according to the CEC:
Competition tires designed for motorsports
Winter-type snow tires
All-season winter performance tires
Used and retreaded tires
Deep tread tires
Tires designed for ATVs and other off-road vehicles
Large off-road tires for use up to 99 mph
Motorcycle tires
Temporary-use spare tires
Small tires with ≤13-inch nominal rim diameter
Limited production tires (<15,000 per year)
Tires sold for use on an emergency vehicle
High load index tires (122 or greater)
Tires not capable of sustaining speeds over 50 mph
Space saver tires

You have to admire the California car culture for just staying alive in a state that seems to be focused on its destruction. Watching some of the exhaust db testing during car week was disturbing free loud speech for people but not for vehicles?😀

Yeah, and a lot of exceptions. Still, the same thing, strangle car owners, of if that doesn't work, strangle to car/truck itself.
I bought a new (used only 1500 miles) Chev 3.0 Duramax LT truck. It got great mpgs with the OEM tires. Winter comes. Truck could not get up a simple slope (read "hill") paved driveway or the ordinary paved road coming to my area. School buses did better. I bought heavier load and tires more suitable for snow, mud, & crap worked great. Mpgs went down. Sigh, oh well. What good is a truck that I can't get up to the house and park it? All not in CA, but the "reason" they think this rule is great actually is true. Of course, LT truck tires are exempt, lucky me. I don't think any tires on a Pcar are exempt.
Whatever. CA laws can stay in CA.
