She must want children after 33 years of age if at all, and only after she’s proven to be a good mother and faithful wife, must be a lady with class and know when the right time is to speak and not to speak, not a prude or bitch, can take the first hint, sociable, unexpectedly texts me pictures of her wearing something new from Fredericks of Hollywood, understands that the best gift she can give me is expressing her desire to **** me like a wild animal, and also understands that gifts for her are treats or rewards for desired behavior.

I am not interested in anyone older than 41 and anyone who makes less money than me since I do not plan on changing the lifestyle I have grown accustom to and hope to one day be a stay at home mom and furthermore… my children will never want for ANYTHING (but of course will not be spoiled brats either lol).

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Kind of a random post but I have to see if other owners experienced this. So I've had my car for about 5 years now. Tastefully modded and always gets a decent amount of compliments when I'm out. However, the wife hates it. She doesn't hate that I spend time in the garage tinkering or pampering it... she just dislikes the car. She says it's too low to the ground, uncomfortable and too small. I'm thinking she just doesn't like sports cars. She was cool with me buying it at the time so I'm not sure what happened. When I had the fabspeed exhaust installed recently I asked her to take a ride and tell me if it is too loud or no real difference from the original. She kindly said "no...that's ok." Really? So now I don't know if she'll ever ride in it again. I think she's only been in it once or twice and that was probably 2 years ago. I was hoping that she would at least like the car so that we could go on nice drives during good weather or just go out for dinner just the 2 of us. Just weird.
Take her car shopping and find out what she does like. If that answer is something you can live with....there yea go.
Otherwise, it's your version of a hunting cabin most guys around here have.
My wife enjoys riding in ours. She's even driven it once, just to see if she could still drive a standard.
It has been lowered, and she has complained about the difficulty of getting in and out of it. There is apparently no graceful way to do that, particularly in a dress or skirt.
So, if your lady rides with you, be sure to help her enter and exit the vehicle.
You can block other people's view while doing this. It should be pretty convenient to lend a hand because you
SHOULD
be opening and closing the door for her anyway!
Same with my wife ... except I don't care about whether or not she likes my car. Did not consult her when I bought it either. The only times that she has ridden in my Pcar is when we had to drop off her car for service and she had no choice but to ride in my Pcar if she wanted to get home.
Yeah... I guess I shouldn't care if she likes it since she wasn't against it when I bought it. Plus, she always says "get what makes you happy" when it comes to cars. She's more of a SUV type I think. She loves ours. I was just hoping that she would at least not mind to ride in it occasionally. Oh well.
LOL! Grrrrrrrrrrr
Same here. I've only had the 911 for about a month, but I have had many sports cars before this one. She has hated all of them for the reasons you mention...too small, too low, rough ride, etc. She humored me and let us take it to see some friends last weekend. I'm 95% sure that will be her first and last ride.
On the flip side, she never stops me from buying them and does not get jealous. Probably helps that I always keep around a more reasonable car as a DD. She doesn't mind my C55 at all, and LOVED the E39 M5 that preceded it.
That sucks. My wife HATES my Corvette but loves the 911, loved the Boxster.
Does she not drive the 911? Frankly, 911's can suck from the passenger seat. You might find that her opinion changes once she spends some time on the fun side of the cabin...
My wife loved the one we had too! She was a little disappointed when I sold it. Then again, it was a sedan, comfortable and had a lot of power. Almost the anti-996 in her eyes.
You may be onto something.... She has not driven it. Maybe I'll try that. If she drives it and still hates it....I'll chalk it up to just being a solo ride for me.
Competition. Wives hate competition and the car competes with her. Also might consider it a chick magnet, which is related to the competition angle.
Pretty fragile, IMNSHO.
My wife has little or no interest in cars generally, or sports cars specifically but she doesn't hate them. IN fact, on occasion when the weather is nice we go for a ride in the topless Ferrari and she somewhat enjoys that. But - she doesn't see it as competition. She considers it an alternative to me sitting in a bar watching college hoops.
Exactly, female opinions are invalid IMO when it comes to certain items like cars, guns, lawn mowers, power tools, etc.
I don't need nor do I care for my wife to make a decision for me, or her feelings on which lawn mower to get based on color or how it sounds, for example.
Next time any women makes negative comments on your ride, make negative comments on her shoes and see what she thinks or are willing to do to make you happy. Exactly....
I'd be bummed if my wife didn't have opinions on cars and guns. As far as power tools - our agreement is that if I buy a new tool, she gets to use it at least once. I think the impact wrench might be her favorite, although the chainsaw-on-a-stick pruner I bought is right up there.
If my wife didn't have opinions about cars, I'd probably have a Miata to beat up on - but she's expressly forbidden me to buy a "chick car."
Sage advice.
She weighed in on some DiNoc 3M vinyl I used to recover some of the interior parts on my 986: "They should call that stuff 'carbon fiber suck.' Take it off."
And I gotta tell you, having a wife who is willing to play "good cop / bad cop" at the car dealership to wear the sales/finance people down is VERY handy, and she's even willing to play innocent/dumb wife to help the cause. Wife at Jeep dealership (the first dealership we visited): "The one at the other dealership had GPS, right? Why is this one the same price as that one if it doesn't have navigation?" (salesman starts sweating profusely)
While I definitely get that for some guys, no input is better than bad input, I'd be bummed if Mrs. Schnell suddenly quit caring about the stuff I'm interested in...
Damn it! I wanted to say that
Maybe you picked the wrong female
In my case the 996 is hers and a 911 was her childhood dream
That could be interesting. Other options would be an honest answer to "is my sister/friend more attractive" and "do I look fat".
I don't suggest any of those when dealing with your wife though
I definitely picked the right female. It's all the other wives I see with issues. Sad thing is some of my friends need to steal back the pants and start wearing them again as to not prolong this bad behavior any longer.
My wife is great and gives me cart blanche on ANYTHING, as long as it doesn't involve any females, the bills are being paid, and family is being fed.
My wife requested I buy my 911 because she hated the C6 Corvette I had. It had been heavily modified by the original owner and was loud, shook at idle, didn't have enough clearance to straddle a squirrel, just a beast of a car. In comparison my Porsche is utterly civilized.
Yeah the **** mine has let me get away with over the years is insane. I have to wonder why she still wants me around sometimes
The right woman definitely makes all the difference.
My wife doesn't appreciate the 911 (996 or 997). She refers to it as "an engine with a stereo". But, she could care less, as long as I like it. She's been a great first wife...
we use this as our commute car so we have to drop our 4 year old daughter at the childcare. Its only a 5 min ride but until then, she always complains how uncomfortable it is..
Stop thinking. She doesn't like sports cars. lol
If it makes you feel any better, my wife's reaction was and is very similar. And, in my case, it's also not because my wife can't drive a stick. She can and, in fact, when I met her she owned a car with a manual.
She fully supported the purchase of our 911, loves the fact that it's a convertible (which she wanted -- she missed my old TT Roadster), and even agrees to go for a ride every now and again...but she rarely, if ever, says, "let's take your car" even on "date night" or when we go to special events. Heck, she thinks our CLA45 AMG is "too low." I've been told that all of my cars are "too low" and "too loud."
Like you, I've got a Fabspeed exhaust on my car. I also have EvoMS headers and an EvoMS airbox. She likes to tease me that I'm always buying stuff for my cars and any time I dip into the throttle with her in the car she says something like, "So, I'm guessing you're going to tell me you need a new 'muffler' soon since this one is broken." She doesn't understand why anyone would want to hear their car like that.
She's never complained about it being too small or uncomfortable but sports cars just aren't her thing. Given the option of driving any type of car she goes for the SUV. Oh, and before anyone chastises me for buying cars that my wife doesn't like, when I asked her if she'd be willing to take "my" car out on weekends if I bought whatever car SHE wanted (provided it wasn't an SUV), she said, "no." So, what's the point of buying the car she wants me to drive (which I don't want), if she's never going to sit in it, let alone drive it?

Awesome that your starter wife has worked out so well.
Are you going to replace her, or just add another wife to the stable ala the FLDS church?
Every so often, my sense of self-preservation stops working and I jokingly introduce Mrs. Schnell as "my first wife." She NEVER thinks it's as funny as I do.
It really makes the other people uncomfortable. Which is, of course, why I do it.
My wife doesn't hate the 911, but she doesn't like it either. She is mostly indifferent about it, but doesn't care how many or what kind of cars I have. She is a car girl though, but prefers her supercharged AMG. She also has a beefed '80 Trans Am, and a '70 GTO convertible is next on her short list. Her main complaint is the 911 only has 6 cylinders and just doesn't sound like a V8...
Mrs. Gator truly hates my 996 for comfort reasons. I thought for sure she would love the Cayman since its more subdued and has all the modern creature comforts. Nope, hates that one too. She kinda liked our former Panamera but I really can't be sure.
If my wife told me she didn't like my car I'd tell her to go get a job and buy me whatever car she thought I should have while I sat around the house all day complaining. Then I'd hide and maybe end up with a different wife. Lol.
She loves when I put the top down and do a drive at night. She will Never drive it because she says is scary, I think also after 10 years of Lexus SUV's your driving spirit gets numb

I only joined a few yrs ago bc I had a Panamera turbo with a seriously defective PDK to see if there were some others that'd had the same problem. I was very committed to checking in everyday to see if I'd gotten a lead, but only a few. After a yr I gave up hoping I could find someone else with this problem. At that time I found conversations like this frustrating bc I just wanted to hear abt real issues. Not how the led lighting under the dash really accentuated the interior of their car at night! Now I check in monthly or so and am find these conversations entertaining. BTW, the Panamera went bye bye and my husband found the '10 911 turbo I had before the PTT, but he doesn't like driving or riding in it either. Which is fine bc I won't get in his airplane, but fortunately we find things that are mutually enjoyable. All that being said I'd be bummed if I were you wanting to take your wife on a date in your car and she won't just bc she doesn't like the car. I mean how far is this place you're going for on a date? Or is there something you've done to tick her off that you're not telling and that's her way of trying to straight en you out? You know there are some of us women who don't do things for good reason!

I got a great deal on my '07 Turbo because the first owner's wife didn't like to ride in it. She said the "drone" made her carsick. Personally, I would have gotten a divorce, but his loss is my gain.
You need to have a "fling" in the car. Back seat is too cramped. Drivers side is a problem because of the steering wheel. But the passenger seat goes way back and folds almost flat. She'll love the car after that.
Your wife doesn't feel like you care about her enough...
Treat your wife better....or try and ask her what she is feeling etc...blah...blah....(don't mention your car)
She doesn't sound happy. Try and do more around the house or with the kids if you have any? Your wife may be overwhelmed with parenting...
Keep your eyes open and see this hatred as a symtom.
Happy wife ....happy life...
Be aware she is not happy about something else...spend some time asking questions and then just listening....
Doesn't mean it's your fault....yet listening and letting her vent may help her.
My wife actually located my car on cars.com.
After a long time looking and some failed PPIs, I was getting bummed by not finding a car.
She said stop pouting, got on her smart phone and in ten minutes, said, here is a nice color one on Tennessee get this one.
After a perfect PPI the transport arrived with my P-car.
She doesn't drive a standard, and has no desire to drive it.
But enjoys going for rides in the country and going to some PCA events.
Even doesn't mind when I get going through the gears as long as I give her a heads up.
38 years of marriage.
Rule number one:
A happy wife is a happy life!
oh. my. god. When did RL become the "Let's touch the tips of our wieners together" forum?
This post gets the award for "most formulaic steaming heap of unsolicited marital advice." And that award didn't even exist until now.
Wow... this thread grew legs over the weekend. LOL I must say some of these responses have made my morning! First, let me say that my wife is very happy. There are no worries in the marriage department. I was just stating that she didn't like the car. That's it. I'm still going to try to get her behind the wheel. 5CHN3LL - thanks for that suggestion! If she still hates it...oh well. It's not going anywhere. Even if I get something else the Porsche will be there as a stable mate. I love the car. Plus, it's paid for and I've done too much to it to part ways at this point. I do believe she's just not a sports car person though. As a test, while we were out over the weekend I asked her about certain cars on the highway. Each one she liked was a SUV/Crossover type or luxury sedan.
Being married to the same beautiful woman for 20 years, I've come to one conclusion in regards to Porsches... She'll never ever get it!... just like I won't get why she has three closets full of "nothing to wear". My wife loves to admire Porsche from afar if you get my drift. Riding in my 996 cab, reminds her of quote, "This is like riding in a go-cart... I feel like my *** is dragging the ground!" hahaha Last time we went for a ride, we made it 15 minutes and she saw this...
Three hours later she's comes out of the store happy as a peach because she found lots of deals (her words, not mine). By this time it's dark and so we turned around and went back home. I'm a little disappointed, but she smiles all the way... not because she somehow despises riding in the 911 convertible and realizes the ride is cut short, but because she got to do what she really enjoys, that is, shopping for our children. Since then, I've learned to include her in things I do to the car. When I first bought the car, I didn't want her around, but she would come out unexpectedly and shout, "Oh my GOODNESS, I can't believe you took the seats out of a Porsche!!!" Like a Porsche is never meant to be taken apart... just supposed to all pretty and shiny on display or something. hahahaha But now, I get her to help me and she enjoys it actually... and now she feels MORE connected to the car. She asks to drive it the other day... heart be still (checking my blood pressure).
She can't drive stick that well and so I'm thinking about the cost of a Porsche clutch replacement I said, "umm, not until you can drive it and maybe we should find a cheaper manual car for you to learn on hunni" She rolled her eyes. Was I wrong? She burned the clutch out of my Ford Escort once and she doesn't comprehend the cost to service these cars. Oh well. I'm not some expert psychologist, buy in my experience, woman like security, comfort, and convenience. That may be the reason they're drawn to SUVs. Riding fast in a low-riding sports car makes them feel vulnerable and uncomfortable. Therefore, I've learned to take it slow and change the gears smoothly and have a destination that's logical for her... like, "Hunni, let's go on a shopping date, we'll drive to Atlanta, eat at your favorite restaurant, then go shopping at that new mall you wanted to check out." Trust me guys, you'll get rewarded in more ways than one! Cheers!
It's that horrid sound your body makes as you start to vomit. comes up out of the lower intestine, passes the gall bladder, rises up into the stomach, resonates through the esophagus and as the spew blows chunks across the parking lot, they can hear you in Piscattaway --
"BBBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to sell my 996 and put an ad without telling my wife. When I told her she said no way you are not selling that car I love it. I tried working her over for a week as I had a buyer but NO WAY she would agree. So I still have my 996 and love it. Maybe she was right
my wife says her favorite part are the heated seats. Haha. The rest is whatever makes me happy. she also likes the Ducati so I am blessed!
Of course she is super happy with a $2000 bicycle and a Saab. Got away cheap! Now I'm bragging. I guess I am a lucky man!
Dude, I've owned 5 Mustangs and my wife hated each of them. The moment I bought my 911 she fell in love! She loves it when we valet park it and they park it in the front.
It's a department store similar to Macy's but mostly shopped by woman. Men have a small section in the back of the building called the exit door. hahaha The men that are seen in that place look like they're being punished for watching too much sports television (or, tinkering with their Porsches).
Here is my contribution to this thread. First is a female version of the "Prince" on any dating site. A certain man (no not me) made a male version of it and posted it on his profile.
Female version:
Here is a well thought out idea of what kind of guy I am interested in… 5’10” or taller, lives near by, compassionate, intelligent, giving, VERY Attractive (someone other than your mother or sister has said so, lol) and in shape, prefer self employed, FAMILY orientated, open to new spontaneous things, likes to camp, likes to golf, wants children, would be a good father and faithful husband, a gentleman, gives me my space when I need it, not a nerd or too sarcastic, can take a hint, social, calls for no reason, remembers sending a note or a nominal gift IS romantic and necessary, respectful, sense of humor, and thinks the world of me. I am not interested in anyone older than 41 and anyone who makes less money than me since I do not plan on changing the lifestyle I have grown accustom to and hope to one day be a stay at home mom and furthermore… my children will never want for ANYTHING (but of course will not be spoiled brats either lol). You should also love animals I am not attracted to red heads at all lol sorry.
Guy version:
Here is a well thought out idea of what kind of gal I am interested in…5′ 5″ or taller, but not over 6 feet (because while I don’t mind being eye to eye with you, I won’t ever be looking up to you), lives close enough to be at my house within 10 minutes after I make the call, genuinely passionate, intelligent enough to be good company, sexually available (preferably insatiable) and VERY attractive – we’re talking Jessica Alba, Keyra Augustina attractive – women with a body-fat percentage higher than 8% need not apply. Must be employed but not so well as you’ll interfere with our sexual activities, FAMILY oriented, but only after you’ve hit 30-33, open to spontaneous sex (you know, like outdoor stuff or a surprise 3 way with one of your hot girlfriends after our 2nd martini), likes to camp (in the nude), knows not to complain when I go play golf with the clients from work or work on my sports car.
Must be respectful of my decisions being final, can’t take herself too seriously and thinks the world of me. I’m not interested in anyone over 31 (since this is most women’s expiration date anyway), she cannot have exorbitant spending habits or a credit debtload in excess of $1,000 since I do not plan on changing the lifestyle I have grown accustom to and hope to one day be able to send my own children to college (rather than pay for your student debt), and furthermore… my children will be taught to reasonably earn their achievements on their own and respect the decisions of their Father and mother (and absolutely will not be spoiled brats either). I’m very attracted to redheads, blondes, brunettes, Latinas, Asians, African-Americans, Pacific Islanders, etc., pretty much any woman that meets my physical requirements. I am not attracted at all to even slightly fat women no matter how much “inner beauty” you think you may possess. Hope to meet you soon, your Prince.
Ok. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I heard solid motor mounts increase the vibration in the passenger seat. I thinks that is where I would start.
And as far as female qualities, I often discuss this with my wife. I have concluded that my next wife only has to have one qualification. And appearance does not matter. This qualification is no opinion.
I guess if I get divorced I will be alone.
My story is similar. She knows the car makes me happy, and I'd never splurge on something so pricey for myself, so she bought it for me. She's happy for me, and I'm happy driving it...T
OP has a sad story.
My wife was "meh" about the Z cars I had when we met. A few years into the marriage she said, pretty much out of the blue, "you can get a Porsche if you sell the 300ZX." I sold it 2 days later and she then dragged my butt to the dealership to buy the C2. She was the one who, with zero hesitation, said "get it" when I hesitantly mentioned I had a lead on a GT3 about a year ago. She handled all the details of car transport, wiring funds and tracking the car as it made its way to Florida. She loves the GT3 for it's sound & fury, but she insisted we keep the C2 for its more civilized ride.
She is also scary smart, cute, almost as funny as me, loves the dogs and is an incredible funds manager. I got lucky, no doubt about it.
My wife went from saying no your not getting a Porsche for the last 3 years to finally agreeing to come with me on some test drives one day. At the beginning of the day she said the cars are ugly and by the end of the day she told me "You are stupid if you don't buy it!" Needless to say I did. This was 2 months ago. She enjoys riding in it if I worn her first the top won't be on. Went out the other night with it down after she spent 30 minutes on her hair. my bad.
