Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Like zilla says no difference on street but if you drive track days you can notice the lighter weight especially if you run NT01s as they are quite heavy.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

From what I have heard there is little to no difference when driving on the street.

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

'Listers, Have any C4s owners substituted turbo hollow spokes for the stock wheels? Just p/u an '02 that has curb rash and while it can be repaired my feeling is the hollow spokes might be a decent performance upgrade. If my math is correct there's about a 21lb. difference between the hollow/solid spoke wheels. 5+ lbs. a wheel. Less unsprung weight, improved acceleration/deceleration. Looking for real world experience. Tia.

POST 2Original post

From what I have heard there is little to no difference when driving on the street. However, once you enter a large pond or river, you will float about 3 minutes longer

POST 3Original post

Good one groovzilla! I think it's 2.7 minutes..... ;-)

POST 4Original post

i'd save the cash, keep the solid spokes and get them refinished or even do it yourself - very easy - i wrote a post years ago on refinishing wheels

POST 5Original post

Mike the hollow spokes are a good upgrade if you can buy them reasonably and need a spare set. Like zilla says no difference on street but if you drive track days you can notice the lighter weight especially if you run NT01s as they are quite heavy. I bought a set on Craigslist for 500 years ago. I see them listed for 800-1000 recently on RL depending on condition. My body shop refurbs a set of wheels for 400 for comparison.

POST 6Original post

Yup. I bought 3 sets of hollow spokes for the track. HUGE difference. I would do it. You can only gain performance.

POST 7Original post

Are you planning to track the car? Lower weight is good but I don't track so I go for the look I like. Just picked up a set of Kinesis K18s for that. All ready have a set of 997TT rims in 19" that I got earlier this year but they ride a bit too harsh for my wife. I suppose I could play with pressures.
