Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've looked at eBay and Pelican and their prices seem high compared to incidental comments of what others have paid for theirs. Does anyone have a good source for both the bearing and the tool? I already have the cam and tdc locks, I just need the extract tool. Thanks

POST 3Original post

Public service announcement: some of the eBay cam lock tools are assembled backwards - or at least I've noticed this comment in several different threads. *edit* Dharn55 points out that it's the 3.4 cam timing tool that sometimes comes improperly assembled from eBay sellers.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Vertex is also an option...but is it a good option?

Consider that a sign that if you buy the LN tool it will be pretty easy to resell.

POST 8Original post

It is the 3.4 cam timing setting tool that comes assembled backwards. The cam lock tools are simp,e bars that have no assembly.

I hope not. There was some play in it when I put it on. After putting the bolt in, I could rock the tool back and forth a little, so I put thin washers on each end of the cam holes to make it fit nice and tight.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
