Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You can also use an etching primer that will grip very well to a well prepped finish.

Used Wurth German Silver, very happy with the results but would like to know how much more durable powder coating is
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just put new rubber on my factory 17s.
My car is light gray and so arent my wheels. They look almost the same color. I want to paint them like a black pearl.
Has anyone done this?
Results?
Are you talking about painting them yourself? I've done it, I don't know if I would ever do it again. Its a lot of work to do it right, sanding, priming, color, sand, clear, sand. If you have access to things like a sand blaster and paint booth that would make life easier. I would just get them powder coated. I plan on having mine done at some point since the barrels are so beat up.
There are some excellent products on the market made by VHT and Rust-Oleum. The key is prep. You can also use an etching primer that will grip very well to a well prepped finish.
Who knows. Something to think about but I would like to see if anyone has done it with success.
No way this car looks right with 17s not to mention it handles very well with the 17s.
plus I just put a full set of Michelin tires on so thats how its going to stay.
Its the right look for for my car.
agree, I painted my Techarts some years ago - and it's one of the
easiest
wheels to paint

If I could find the right sander or get them blasted for very cheap I'd do it again, probably prime and paint + clear for $60 (rattle can)
most shops are close to $100
You are right, prep is key and the prep is the hardest part. If you have tools for sanding then this will be easier, I spent days sanding my BBS RCs by hand and never again. It will be easier if its a 5 spoke wheel as it wont be as difficult since there aren't any tight spaces. You could probably get some paint stripper if the wheels are currently painted so it just peels off. Then go over them a few times with sand paper to smooth them out and prep but you are going to have to sand a lot on every step. Maybe self etching primer would make life a little easier as well.
I bought gunmetal plastidip and a couple cans of their glossifier to redo my wheels.
I also like 17 wheels and want to see how the wheels look in gunmetal before paying $600 or so to have them professionally redone.
Im a couple weeks out from doing it
