Hi fellow 996 fans. I have a 1998 C2 and yesterday noticed that the spoiler raises at 50 mph and closes at about 20 mph. Anyone got any ideas? I expect it to raise at around 75mph.

The '98 is super early production, who knows if it had a different setting? Not many '98 around to compare to, but maybe they were experimenting? Specs change over time. For example, that behavior changed in '05, and raising at 50 mph with a warm engine would be normal.

Check if your engine compartment temp sensor is properly in its holder. Might have fallen out and is laying on the top of the block and giving a false temp reading to the car.
