So does it make sense to try to sell the stuff on the car and replace the full kit or just get some shocks?

If you like the ride quality, ride height and handling, then it is most economical to just replace your struts and keep your H&R springs and sways.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I am redoing my suspension and thinking of going with the ROW M030 set up, what's holding me back is that I already have H&R sport Sway bars and springs on the car. So does it make sense to try to sell the stuff on the car and replace the full kit or just get some shocks? Speaking of which what are you guys running? I am thinking of Bilstein B8s any recommendations on others? The car is a C4 convertible driven on weekends on crappy Long Island roads, patient and understanding wife up to a point.

POST 2Original post

Your springs are the biggest factor in static ride height, and ride stiffness. Anti sway bars will have a big impact on body roll and cornering stiffness/handling. The struts mostly smooth things out - dampening jarring and bounce by moderating compression and rebound. If you like the ride quality, ride height and handling, then it is most economical to just replace your struts and keep your H&R springs and sways. If not, the full ROW M030 refresh is a great option. Ride quality is very subjective. I live in rural Vermont and love the X74 suspension, but to many it would be too low, and too harsh. I find it sublime. I like the Bilstein products, so I'm very biased. That being said I would stick with them. The OEM struts are Bilstein. Supply has been a problem lately on some products though (B8?), so you may need to shop around. I think there is a good market for quality used springs and sways, as long as they are in good condition and your price is reasonable.

POST 3Original post

Im currently trying out raceworks coilovers. Ill have them installed by Wednesday, I also live in long island and own a C4 cab, if your interested you can try it out on my car first.
