Cool, but I only had one blank on upper center which was used for a K40 diffuser on/off switch.

I added the foot well lighting switch, spoiler switch and a USB plug and will now add the garage door switch to fill all my blanks.

Thinking about ashtray delete. Would be second mod after my pumpkin-delete (I'm very tech-savy).
My seat heaters are on the front console, not center. Anyone do anything worthwhile with the two other switches (non-window) in the center while they do the ashtray delete?
Also looks like I can get my tray in black, black or black. None of the online retailers sell grey any more, and the custom paint requires full console purchase. Anyone paint this as a DIY, or they just go black; I'd rather stick with grey.
And finally, anyone have a pic of the no-smoking lighter cap?

Can you buy the Ashtray delete mod piece (non-smoker’s tray) in any color other than black/grey? My interior is beige. Black isn’t the end of the world, but figured I’d ask first. Thanks.
Nothing, literally just to tell passengers not to smoke in the car!
However the serious answer is, its part of the non-smokers package so the plug replaces the lighter plug. FYI you need to change the whole unit for it to fit, or if you just want the plug trim it down so it fits the hole. Its a bit too big
Also FWIW it also covers up the majority of the light ring - something i'm not particularly a fan of but thats just the way it is.

Yes, I have another unused switch that�s being used.
I tucked a garage door opener under and behind the ashtray.
I soldered 2 wires to it and the switch is connected.
Batteries last for years in garage door openers.
It�s easy to get to for battery replacement.
You could move the heated seat switches to the ashtray delete and then get a batwing with no switch spots.

The heated seats do not reach. You will have to extend them. As for the USB, I did this (the blank will be the garage door opener). I am going to redo it, though, as I can do it a little more tidy.
That�s a nice setup! Good work with blue to match stitching also! So I could move my current seat heaters to center console ashtray delete (when i do it) and then that will leave 2 openings on my current batwing part. Get an older non-shaped blank for usb and targa switch for garage door! Love it! Thanks!

No, not at all. As long as you are not afraid to cut, strip and solder wires.
And if you have blanks on the center dash, I filled them with the spoiler switch and the footwell switch which will control a custom lighting set-up I am working on.

There is a german seller on ebay called auto-dad that says he can get other colors for pre-99 boxster. Might be worth an email? He sells a bunch of Porsche non-smoker stuff.
I�m probably not in the correct thread section for my car, but replied to the title instead since it was for an ashtray delete mod. I have an �01 Turbo coupe. So the dumb question is...could a pre-99 boxter ashtray delete tray fit in an �01 coupe?
Sorry, not sure. Just insinuating that this ebay seller may have better insight, and access to parts since he sells the ashtray delete sets regularly.
I purchased the non-smoker ashtray delete set for both of my 996 cars from him, so I know he is legitimate.
Center console on all 986 & 996 are the same - colors are different between years.
I haven't found a Graphite Gray ashtray delete ("non smokers kit" is what Porsche calls it) yet.
