Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I ran over something and dented one of the right side pipes at its rear bracket, but can't figure out what it's for. It's the one on the extreme right and is the larger of a pair that run from the front wheel well to the engine compartment. Nothing appears to be leaking out of it. Is it an A/C line, and should I replace it?

POST 2Original post

If by right side you mean passenger side, it sounds like you might be talking about the AC lines. A pic and the year and model of your car would be helpful.

POST 3Original post

A dent probably isn't a big deal. If it's crushed, then you'll probably want to consider replacing it.

'00 C-2 Cab. Thanks. Yes its likely the A/ C line. As its the larger of the pair, it's probably the low pressure line.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's a deep dent - probably 1/2 the diameter. As I posted, there is no sign of any A/C oil. The low pressure side may not be as critical and may not affect A/C performance, but I'll take a closer look and decide whether to replace it. Thanks for your response.
