Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I picked up a set of lightly used Agency Power mufflers that are will replace the current muffler bypass system while the engine is out for other work. They were already in very nice shape, but I cleaned everything and polished them up with #0000 steel wool, and then hit the tips with some metal polish. Is there anything else I should do to prep these for install - is there any meaningful way to protect them with a coating of sealer? Or do you just let the stainless steel do it's thing? Here's a pic, just for funsies:

POST 2Original post

You could try a metal coating, something like Carpro Dlux. I've used it on exhaust tips with good results, its relatively cheap for what it does. You can also use it to coat any plastics on the car as well.

POST 3Original post

Install and drive. You can't see them once they are installed.

Hah. Im not too concerned about how they look. I was just wondering if this was an opportunity to easily add a little longevity. I dont think Ill do much else at this point.
