Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Is this good foundation for a project? https://www.copart.com/lot/28443519 Minus the drivetrain what is problematic?

POST 2Original post

My advice is to start out with the best one you can afford. The car you linked is a money pit waiting to happen.

POST 4Original post

Probably not a good project car unless you are very skilled and live near Hayward, CA. What, rollers (blown engines) are going for $4,000 to $7,000 these days? This chassis is definitely NOT a roller. Engine condition is unknown so we have to assume it's toast. I also see the car doesn't have keys, which means you'll need an immobilizer and matching key(s), which is expensive if bought new. Don't forget the cost of transporting the car to wherever you live. Finally, the ending price is unknown. So unless this goes for super-cheap(!) about the only thing it's good for is parting out. IMHO, YMMV.

POST 5Original post

If you can get it for $60 then why the hell not

POST 6Original post

Man... even without the status of abandon that it shows... there is nothing correct on that car.. front GT2 bumber with a wrong lip, rear turbo/4s bumper, but with an aero taco wing... with high milleage I wont even think about it...

POST 7Original post

I know a youtube guy just did a refurb on a similar car but that one was in much better shape. I'd say hard no.

Samcrac. His was in much better shape and I believe similar milage. This thing looks fairly beat all around. Could be a good parts car but it just looks like too much of a headache.

POST 10Original post

If you own a body shop then it *might* be worth it. But the aftermarket body parts parts and general condition of the car tells me there would likely be a lot of surprises waiting for you once you tore into it.

POST 12Original post

You will end up into that car well over 10k, or you can look around and find one ready to go for 13-15k if you are patient.
