Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My car has an upgraded aftermarket audio system, including a sub in the back. My doors were getting wet and leaking into the front carpets, so I purchased new door membranes to fix that issue. When I took the door apart, the speakers were put together in a way that was custom done, but the water rotted out some of the material that was used to keep it in place. I now how to figure out a way to bolt the speakers back in place, without any type of bracket currently in the door. I don't have any experience is car audio. Has anyone purchased aftermarket speakers and made them fit correctly into the doors, using an aftermarket bracket, or homemade solution? I'm looking for some ideas to get this done, and have it be able to be sealed with the membrane and stay water-tight.

Please post pictures of what the current mounting looks like. It's almost impossible to answer your question without seeing the work you are describing. There are factory speaker boxes for the door speakers, so it may be as simple as getting a set of those if they are missing (though usually those speaker boxes are modded , rather than removed, when different speakers are installed).

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
