Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had one of the two go bad, but just replaced both because they were cheap.
Leading evidence: 'Replace because they were cheap' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend including the relay' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Seems Porsche has a horn problem, our 06 997 had one horn go out, replaced by dealer CPO, and one on my 09 Boxster...didn't know which was not working so I bought both because the front bumper had to come off and I did not know which one was bad....sounded like peep peep embarrassing

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I can't believe I couldn't find another thread about this. Something tells me I did something wrong.
My car has the lower frequency wimpy horn. 420 Hz I believe.
Please let me know which is a good replacement to make it sound like a proper German Machine.
I know there is an OEM 510 Hz model but I have no clue how that sounds and could not find anything online.
I like the horn on my BMW, high pitched and manly.
Thanks,
Ted
following along. my recently acquired 03 c4s apparently has a whimpy low end horn only as well. didnt even notice it until instructor at HPDE happened to hit the horn and almost laughed.
Maybe something like this compact 2-tone (530 hz and 680 hz) air horn ->

Traditional air horns from Fiamm and others with trumpets, pump, and hoses are bulky and not all that reliable. The above Amazon link is a self-contained 2-tone air horn in a very compact package (about 4" square by 3" deep) and rated at 139db. Might be worth a try.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you need to install a relay due to the (presumably) higher current draw of the air horns, or could you wire it directly in place of the existing horn?
I would recommend including the relay. It comes with the horn IIRC, so nothing extra to buy.
Good deal, as warned its all youll ever need! Quality tone as well and befitting a pcar imo.
I only used the existing Porsche relay. The one that came with the horn is redundant. I removed both existing horns ( one didn’t work), and installed in the stock location, slight modification of the included bracket was necessary to clear the bumper cover.
Mine sounds like a rubber ducky squeak. No bass at all. Embarrassing. I stopped using it cause it doesn't alert anyone. I only get weird finger pointing and laughter.
