Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Saw a post a while back saying that on the track the consensus is 35 psi on all four tires.
Should that also be for the street?
If no, why not?
I put mine cold to 35 last night. Noticed on the drive in today it felt "wiggly". I usually run 36 front, 38 rear.
What say you oh guru's of the 996 forum?
Oh, for the record, 02 C2 coupe with 18" tires. Mostly highway driving at 80+ mph.
I recently set mine 34F/38R, makes a noticeable difference. 03 C4S. I may bump the rears up to 40 for a little more peace of mind (closer to factory spec) but this is much better for a DD like mine.
I have a C4S and run the pressures at factory spec 36/44 cold. I don't know about others but my car has unexpected TPMS. If the pressures are too low my ABS cna PSM warings pop on. Happened on my way to StL from Chattanooga the day I bought the car. Left dealership and warnings popped on near Nashville. That was a frantic "OMG" moment to say the least. Contacted dealership from gas station and they told me they would make it right but all it took was about 10# of air in each tire to make car happy. Sales rep told me he underinflated for more comfortable ride. C'mon it's a Porsche so ride comfort in not top of my list.
One time I drove a friends 996 and the car was really loose. After the ride I checked his pressures and they were way low. Aired them up to spec and got him a tire gauge for his birthday, LOL.
i keep my c4s approx. 32f/40r cold. never experienced that ABS/PMS warning but OMG would be among the things that would've come out of my mouth had i had that issue day 1.
