Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

New C2 owner here, and I see the purchase of an OBD2 reader in my near future. Don't want to spend a fortune...at a bare minimum, just need to be able to read and reset codes.
Good options? Seems like my choices are:
USB cable to laptop plus software
dedicated device
bluetooth/wifi plug in conjunction w/ Android phone
Thanks.
I have a simple OBDII hand held that I leave in the door pocket so I can read any codes on the fly and reset. Paid like $40 at Advanced Auto. But nothing beats Durametric w/USB cable. Expensive but well worth it in the long run.

There are plenty of inexpensive options on amazon.com with good ratings. If anybody wants to recommend something specific, I'm listening.
Thanks.
One more thing - do I need to look for one that specifically works w/ Porsche vehicles? Some of the scanners say they work w/ US built cars...
i have a centech from harbor freight that was about $60 that works great for reading and clearing codes on most cars including my Porsches and would buy again. However not all codes (like airbag) can be reset. For that i have durametric, but hardly use it
I have the Durametric, a WiFi reader, and a direct plug-in reader. All have their uses. The WiFi reader turns itself on and off with the ignition so I leave that plugged in. Whenever I feel like looking at any parameters (mileage, intake temp, etc), I just open the app on my phone. Convenient.
Once I get my car back from the shop, I'm gonna start monitoring/logging data.
Is there any downside to leaving the reader plugged in all the time? Will it kill the battery?
If you drive your car often I think it would be fine. I have the VGate iCar-II. It turns on and off with the ignition. I mainly use my car on the weekends.
