Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I do plan on changing the radio out so having my own for $5 is worth it to me.

I just installed a double din radio and had trouble removing the old radio even using the correct tools.

You could use the metra cubby with the bottom trim attached or order a factory cubby that fits.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Wanting to move my stereo and climate controls around to install aftermarket cup holders .. but I forgot to get the stereo removal tool.
I'm guessing it's required?
Any suggestions if I don't have one?
Anyone have a template so I can make one?
I could probably cut one out of a credit card if I knew exactly the dimensions, including where the notch is.
I couldn't find mine when I went to remove my stereo so I just bit the bullet and spent the $5.99 on Amazon.

I can't see where you live but if you're near me, you can use mine.
If you're not local, I can mail mine to you. Just mail them back when you're done.
Also, your removal might be as difficult as mine was. There was no way I would've gotten mine out if the tools were made of plastic.
Thank you very much for the offer. I think I'll just put it off until next weekend when I have the correct tool.

Again, thanks for the offer.

I had to buy one also as the "nail clipper" method that I saw on youtube was a bust (for me). I ended up buying a kit that included all the radio removal tools I'll ever need LOL
Oh amazon...
I know there are tons of threads on this but what I am expecting:
Add dual slot cup holder to top - 1
Move bottom storage to - 2 (Does that one fit in 2? It looks like it is a different shape)
Move radio to - 3
Move climate to bottom - 4 (I need to get a new bezel from Porsche)
Does this sound about right?
I just installed a double din radio and had trouble removing the old radio even using the correct tools. They are very thin. The nail file method works too, the key is going up at a slight angle and feeling the tension against the file/tool and pull the radio from the rear at the same time. Mine was pretty stuck the first time I pulled it out. You need to go in at an angle pointing out and pull the retainers in.
The climate control fit relatively easily in the bottom slot. There is a special trim piece necessary for it.
The cubby from the very bottom will not fit where the CD holders are located. You could use the metra cubby with the bottom trim attached or order a factory cubby that fits.
My car is an 03 and already has the built in drink holder. I didn’t notice any fasteners holding it in.
Hope this helps.
The tools I used have a ring on the other end. I tried pulling the radio out by putting my fingers in the hole. With a little more effort I could have cut my fingers off. I then used a couple of thick screw drivers instead of my fingers, as it took a significant amount of force to dislodge the radio that first time.
