Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

 • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The C4s use a different ABS Booster Pump than the C2s. The P/N is P/N 993 355 953 01 (also 964 355 901 01 or 964 355 953 01) It looks like this . This part is NOT available ANYWHERE in the world. Porsche dealers in US, Canada and Europe have been out of stock for a long time and there is NO date for when a replacement will be available. I have checked all the Recyclers in the US, they are also looking for this part. If this pump fails you CANNOT drive the car, it takes too much foot pressure to stop the car. If you own a C4 this will eventually affect you! Please help me by emailing Porsche USA and ask them for a resolution. Their email address is Please also join me and contact Porsche Club of America (PCA.org) and ask them for their help in pressuring Porsche to get us a replacement. The replacement part will be EXPENSIVE (rumored to be $4,000), but better than a broken car Reply

Sounds like a rebuild is your best option. From the photo it looks like it can be stripped apart; perhaps contact a few really good refurbishment shops? you might get lucky and the seals and wear parts are generic metric parts that you could source from mcmaster or equivalent. Don't give up yet!

Hard to get apart. This is the pump impeller Inside of pump impeller removed Sketch of how I think it works

POST 7Original post

Kinda like a wankel engine, at least in principle Sunset says it ships in 7-10 days Might give them a call on availability

POST 8Original post

Failing that,, take it to a Diesel engine pump rebuild service and let them have a look.. Its likely more about understanding a tight clearance pump in the rebuild process. Injection pumps off a diesel run at sub .0001 tolerances.
