Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

We really didn't use the instructions because Kevin installed ROW on his car so he just guided us along.
Leading evidence: 'Install row' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean ride, bud' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Removing the front struts and getting the tops of both the front and rear struts aligned and the nuts started tightening I would recommend 2 people.

What are your reasons for wanting to change the suspension?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Tomorrow Christian and I are installing X74 on my Cab, with Kevin H supervising
I will take a bunch of pics and post a report on how difficult it is for rookies to do.
Thanks BK12 for the X74
your cab look awesome looks like my previous cab. the new stance will really enhance the appearance of your car. however, beware of the stiffer ride quality and on a cab you might hear some new noise and rattle...just tell me how i know..
You'll love the lowered look, you'll love the performance on smooth surfaced curves, you'll learn where the potholes and expansion joints are in your neighborhood
.
Good luck with the instal!
We want before and after PICS!!
Thanks guys! Install is complete.
It took a tad bit longer than we thought it would, but everything went smooth.
Big thanks to Kevin H for the use of his facilities, tools and most importantly expertise. I am not sure how the Kid managed it, but it seemed like Kevin spent more time under the car with me than Christian did!
I forgot to install the little rear brace things that go in the rear tail lights so i will probably do that next weekend.
I took some pics, and I will post them tomorrow while I am at work
Kevin and Christian, it must have been the angle of the driveway, or the fronts settled because it looks much lower parked in my garage. I am going to have to do some experimenting to figure out how to get out without scraping
Maybe I just have a soft butt
because the trip from MN to GA in Christian's C4S with X73 didn't seem harsh at all, so I am not concerned about the stiffness. The main reason for the change was to reduce the amount of understeer in the car. My next AutoX is may 4th so I will see how it does.
The car is really low
and Kevin is right I do need spacers so it looks right.
Oh, so now my help was not good enough? There is no room for 3 people under the car... And besides, somebody had to drink the beer and order the pizza

Nice car! I think I saw your car at autox school a couple of weeks ago in Cobb. I really like the aerokit and the suspension drop looks great. So how was the install experience - how long, how straightforward, and would you install yourself again? FWIW the guys at Gran Turismo East on Shallowford are really good for things like alignment...
I'm kind of on the fence about getting a ROW M030 and doing it in my garage. Do you need two sets of hands for much of it or can one guy do it all?
Thanks and I like what you've done.
That was me!
What are your reasons for wanting to change the suspension? Handling or looks? If handling then ROW 030 is the best bang for your buck. If looks then you could just do lowering springs. My opinion is do ROW 030/Coilovers(PSS9)/X74 in increasing cost. I wanted to get rid of the understeer and floaty front end, so I was going to do ROW, but I got a reallt good deal on X74 that I couldn't pass up
Install was very straight forward. X74 is easier than ROW because the springs and struts are one piece vs having to assemble them. Christian (996 C4S with aero in the class) and Kevin H both helped me. We really didn't use the instructions because Kevin installed ROW on his car so he just guided us along. I think it took about 4-4.5 hours including lunch and a brief detour to add fluid to the cab motor reservoir. 90% of the job you can do by yourself (with the remaining 10% being the the trickiest parts). Removing the front struts and getting the tops of both the front and rear struts aligned and the nuts started tightening I would recommend 2 people. Kevin did his by himself, but man I don't know how
I would definitely do it again, and I will be going to Gran Turismo this week to get my car aligned, as they really took care of me when I had my Boxster.
If you are at the May 4th AutoX come say hi, we are a friendly bunch who all met on the Boxster boards about 5 years ago.
I'd like to get rid of the floatiness. I have a wicked steep driveway and can't go as low as you did but would like to firm things up a little so I think that ROW 030 is going to be the way to go for me. Presumably Suncoast or Sunset have the best price?
I won't be at the May 4 autox because I have to attend a wedding but I'll look for y'all the next time around.
Again, great job!

When doing this by yourself, you can use spring compressors to shorten the overall length of the strut when removing the old ones;
and when installing the new ones, just use the floor jack to lift the suspension assembly up into position to install the top 3 fasteners.
Since we had 3 people (2 of which are young and strong
), we just skipped this part.
