Suggestion

I don't know how much understeer has been affected, will have to run a couple of autoX's to be sure, but so far I like it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, just about to order a new set of tires for my 02 targa, just wanted to ask: i'm running the stock 18" carrera 5 spoke lightweight wheels, and i want to dial out a bit of understeer, the stock tire sizes are 225/40/18 and 285/30/18 would you suggest going to a 235/40/18 or 245/40/18 up front? given the wheel width is 8", of course i don't want to run into rubbing issues or change the diameter or anything....

POST 2Original post

Quotes source post: 5340803

I just went to the 235s upfront and there isn't much space between the tire and the wheel well at full lock. Make sure 245 will fit before ordering. I don't know how much understeer has been affected, will have to run a couple of autoX's to be sure, but so far I like it.

POST 3Original post

I have 245s on mine and it barely clears. I don't know if I will go that wide again.

POST 4Original post

I remember that Ray reported once that he had an issue with 245/40/18 (shouldn't it actually be 245/35/18?) but the 235/40/18 tire is the stock set-up for the GT3, so there should not be an issue with this one.
