The Nuvi 350 does not let me actually set the route.

I used the Garmin e550 in a rental car this weekend on trip and I have a feeling these GPS things are going to sell way more than they have already sold.

It's something I would use more then having it tell me how to get somewhere.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
35 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.
TomTom 920 with built in maps of North America and Europe. You can also get traffic updates and known blitz cameras. Additionally if you travel to other countries outside of Europe and North America you can upload the maps.
I have a Garmin Nuvi 350, and it's excellent. Never sent me in the wrong direction, always has the address in its database, and the extra features are great.
I have Garmin Nuvi 350 as well and it has never let me down. I saw it on one of these Thanksgiving sales for $299!!! Maybe there is a deal on-line today, look around.
After many hours of comparison shopping I bought the Garmin nuvi 350. I could not be happier with it. It has 2GB of memory built-in and I added another 2GB with a SD card. Plenty of RAM for jpeg pics and MP3s. I found it easy to use right out of the box. Now, I wonder how I ever got along without it.

I have the Garmin 360 - no complaints from me. None of these systems are the greatests for getting you there on the fastest and most efficient route, but they do get you there and that counts for a lot.
Another Nuvi 350 owner chiming in. Great for traveling. Battery life is great--hours without needed to plug it in. I bought it when I had to drive in Germany for the first time. Bought European map package and it worked great. The other thing I like about portables is that you can look up your destinations at your leisure on your PC then download them all at once (rather than fiddling with the car setup).
By the way, first time driving on the Autobahn! Wow, what a treat. Tempting to at least rent a 911 on my next trip and pretend it's my car . . .
I have the TomTom 720 using it between my 2 cars, great performance fast alternate route planning, traffic news capable and a great "blue tooth" for my phone. (great little feature if you get an SMS message you can set it to read it to you...) only issue if you do not mount in the proper position screen will "washout" in the sun...so mount it low, no issue with antenna reception when mounted low on dash board...
Another Garmin Nuvi 350 owner here, and very happy with it. Only thing I would reconsider is the screen size, it is fine for the p-car, but in my suv with a dash large enough to deliver pizza's on, I would have liked a Garmin with a larger screen as it sits farther away.
You guys are fantastic....thanks for the quick and candid response. I was leaning towards the Nuvi myself but am a little surprised that no one mentioned Mio
+1 I love my Garmin Nuvi 660. Even though my Porsche has factory nav the Garmin is more intuitive, has more POIs with phone numbers, interfaces with my phone via bluetooth and is almost always more accurate.
I have a Garmin 320 and i3. The 320 is much better and has a touch screen, but much bigger. I got my inlaws the 330. All 3 get you there. An updated version (340) is on sale for $198. The 650 is about $300, and the 360 is around $350.
Oh, did you guess -> I recommend Garmin products

My parents have a Tom Tom ($500), my friend has a Garmin ($1000), cant tell much of a difference between the two. Fit and finish of the Garmin appears a little better but nav wise, seem the exact same.
I have a NUVI 350 and really like it. Just bought a NUVI 650 for my father at Amazon for around $300.
A good resource for information and ratings on most anything electronic is CNET.com. I always reference them.
I have Garmin stock but no GPS yet!
it's up 100% since I bought it.
I used the Garmin e550 in a rental car this weekend on trip and I have a feeling these GPS things are going to sell way more than they have already sold. I like the girl's voice telling you wear to turn. They should have celebrity babes do the voice overs.
Does any of your gps units have the planned route feature like the Garmin Zumo 550?
It sounds really good. I think I would find it more useful when I want to go on a road trip and follow certain twisty roads. It's something I would use more then having it tell me how to get somewhere.
Here is the planned route feature in more detail:
Plan Your Adventures and Share Your Rides
zumo 550 makes it easy to plan your next trip and share routes with your riding buddies. Plan trips on your computer before you start. Search for food and fuel stops and local attractions. Then, transfer your route to zumo and go.

Download routes to share with your riding buddies even load mp3 files to your unit to enjoy tunes on the road. In addition, JPEG Picture Viewer lets you share photos of your adventures with friends and family.
Hi!
The Nuvi 350 does not let me actually set the route. Kind of wish it did. You can pick destinations on the 350 or on your PC, but it picks the route.
