I was prepared to fit them and possibly take them to a shop to weld them.....they slipped on, I tightened the clamp and good to go.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

34 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a narrow body C4 Cab Mk2. I like the look of the turbo exhaust tips. Should I get them or is it total poser?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7274136

YES - where did you get them and what was involved in installing them?

POST 5Original post

Tim, arent those like 500+ bucks..... its prob more now since the 996 are close to classics.... or so Porsche thinks.

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 7274164

They were an factory option that the first owner of the car ordered. They were on the car when I bought ot. I don't recall how much they were. I have seen some aftermarket tips on ebay that were similar looking to these.

POST 7Original post

wow Tim.... I didnt know you had additional pics of your car

POST 8Original post

Anyone know how good are the ones on Ebay? I saw them to but not sure if the back ends will fit properly even after welding if needed...

POST 9Original post

Ed, come to think of it, you joined Rennlist after my 996 "went away." I guess you never saw too many pics of my car.

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 7274406

POST 12Original post

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7274411

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 7274372

Or you can search the For Sale section. I, umh, happen to know the seller on these: Link I purchased them about a year ago from a fellow RL'er. I didn't know and they didn't know that they were only for a narrow body. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7274747

POST 16Original post

POST 23Original post

Here's a Suncoast link for them. They're pricey. http://www.suncoastparts.com/product..._Code=996exttr

POST 24Original post

Many places to get them, I bought mine from the guys on Ebay who are from Canada....no affiliation, etc. I ordered black chrome which was not an easy decision, I like 'em....really like 'em. I asked them questions and they were very helpful and responded quickly. Price was reasonable, too. Just sayin'.

POST 27Original post

simple search on ebay..... http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_...acat=0&bkBtn=1

POST 28Original post

poser? No way, Adding the tip WITH the side ducts would be a poser. Or even just the side ducts would be poser. But not just the exhaust tips

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7339094

Yes - am aware there's a bunch on ebay but I can't find ONE forum member to tell me who they bought theirs from on ebay and what their experience has been in terms of quality and ease of installation....

POST 30Original post

For $169, bite the bullet and buy the tips on ebay. Then YOU can be the guy on Rennlist that can advise others about quality and ease of installation of the ebay tips!

POST 31 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7341518

Good call...

POST 32Original post

I asked about those and the seller will knock of $15. I say offer $150 shipped.

POST 33Original post

Sorry, been gone. Yes, Jakuo in Canada. I had kind of a special deal as my Porsche is a C4S ('03) and the exhaust is just a little bit different. The end that goes into the tips is a straight shot as opposed to an angle and a clamp (I think) on a regular 996. Jakuo suggested turbo tips, telling me that I could send them back if they didn't work on the C4S. I was prepared to fit them and possibly take them to a shop to weld them.....they slipped on, I tightened the clamp and good to go. So easy a Norwegian can do it Like I said, I hemmed & hawed over "black chrome" decided to go with it and I really like them. Cool, chromey shiney, subtle and a little in your face, too. Sorry about no pics, I don't know how....soon though. PS the pic things has me feeling really guilty, I have quite a story with a salvaged P car, no PPI and I LUCKED OUT!! Runs great, great fun, no issues. So, stick with me and soon I will have the story w/pics. Okay Tim?
