I bought a used set a few months ago and highly recommend these.

Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The fabspeed mufflers are 304 stainless steel. The reddish color is a tarnish or oxidation.......stainless doesn't rust.
Don't know if you could get the muffler all shiney new again though but since the only part you would see is the exhaust tip I wouldn't worry about it.

Stainless does not rust, however the carbon steel embedded in stainless steel of lower grades can cause imperfections that are hard to remove, thus the question. Yep, hiding under the car most people won't see the shiny exhaust, but it would be nice to have the option.
so what do they do? Are they just stock replacements? do they add some sound other than my car sounding like a little electric motor back there.are they just bolt on? Will they work with the rest of the stock exhaust? Will they bolt up to the cats?
Everyone knows that I'm not a big fan of FS, but at that price you could save some weight off the back end and Fister D could hack them for you and make em sound REAL aggressive.
Cracks in stainless are an easy fix. Tons of good welders around that can repair with their eyes closed. Broke the hanger off my 928S4 rear muffler bypass and it was better than new in less than an hour and looked great to boot.

The stock 996 tips will also fit on there.
I took the opportunity to use a 2-stage polishing on my stock tips, and the sound and tips are amazing compared to when I bought the car.
Kyle you ought to get these if you'd like you'd like to *hear* your Porsche and get a little more respect on the road, I found this to be an amazing upgrade.
