Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am changing the interior on my 99 Cab from green and black to all black. I have green full power/memory seats in the car now and a set of perfect black seats that have power backs only. I want to do one of two things but didn't find anything when I did a search...... I might be search challenged 1. Switch the covers 2. Switch the seat components Does anyone have experience with either option? Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

May want to rethink your approach. The seat covers are a pain in the ***. I do the largest majority of my own mods and work. What may take you four or so hours will take an upholstery shop about an hour a side so you may decide a couple hundred is worth the latter option. If you want o go at it yourself, you will need a good set of Klien dikse, hog rings, a hog ring tool and a bit patience.

POST 3Original post

trim shop, even at the dealer we dont do seat covers, they are a real pita to do and the results are rarely good, leave that one to the pros

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

......did I mention plan 3. Take them to an upholstery shop Advise taken. Thanks for your help.

Plan 3 = good choice! I know that there are a few of us who would like to see a few pics of your car during the conversion process. Maybe you could post a few "before" and "after" pics when you get the seat covers changed out. It would be interesting to watch the process "as it happens" as opposed to waiting to the very end to see a total "before" and "after" comparison.
