Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just checked, the numbers are empty wieghts for manual vs tiptronic

It would also be nice to have a description of anything done to the car that could change the weight.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Doesn't the weight differ from year-to-year ??? I have heard that the '99 996 C2 is the lightest of the newer design/water-cooled cars. And yes I heard that this weight is under 3,000 lbs for the '99's.
Just posted this in the header thread.
Corner balanced weight (pulled from one of my posts).
My car weighs 3084lbs and 3259lbs with my weight 175lbs (lightweight 02 5 spokes F/R 8”/10”, PS2 235/265, no floor mats except for 1 weathertech driver mat at approximately 5lbs, a hair over 1/4 tank of gas, a stereo amp at approximately 10lbs, heavier GT3 sway bars and TRG drop links, engine protection plate, no spare tire, no toolkit/jack, JICs which weigh the same as stock from my measurements, and the rear strut brace).
The car is a 99 996 6spd, w/lsd, rear wiper, heated seats, and tinted windows. No other mods other than what's listed.
auto-xr, not to hijack the thread, but I noticed in you sig you have a rear strut tower. How does it mount, in front, or behind, the rear seats? Thanks.
Porsche official weights
996 C2 Mk I 1,320kg
996 C2 Mk II 1,345kg
So according to Porsche the Mk I's are about 55lbs lighter.
Obviously the more options your car has, the more it will weigh above those figures.
Unless the options are GT3 seats and sunroof delete...
I'm going to put my snow tires on the '99 C4 in a week or two - when I do I'll corner balance and post the results.
Anyone have the corner balanced weight of a 996 c4s. They are supposed to be heavier but I'm curious what the actual weight is. What about a mk1 and mk2 gt3? They are suppossed to be lighter (?).
I have PSS9
New sway bars front and rear
18" stock rims
full tank of gas, with me in the car
C4 cab
LF = 742
RF = 704
LR = 1155
RR= 1071
The Sherman Tank weighs in at 3672
those 25 extra horses don't look so good
Keep in mind your car weight includes the AWD system and it is a Cab. Those two factors alone add quite a bit of weight. Additionally, a full tank of gas (and you in the car) also boost the weight.
With me in it??
I drove onto one of those truck stop scales once, the digital read out said "one at a time please".
Hahahahahahah
