Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I wired it up to the phone prep connector which is behind the CD storage and cubby hole in front of the center console (all US and CDN cars have it) and used the becker cable kit ($17) to hook into the radio.

You can get a remote antenna, hardwire it, and use the line-out to connect to the existing stereo in a nice clean install.

I had to also replace the amp with somthing more substantial (JL Audio) to drive the Bowes speakers (which now sound great).

Suggestion
THe system is fantastic: it mutes the radio and pauses CDs when using the phone and displays "phone" on the radio, uses the car speakers for the phone and announces caller numbers and name (if programed into it).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am wanting a bluetooth setup for my cab. Anyone know of any setups that will work with the factory Bose system? I would like it to go through the entire sound system but a hidden external speaker would work.
I'm not sure if you just mean it to be for the phone or a full blown system. I had a Pioneer AVIC-Z2 system installed in my Pcar which now has Bluetooth phone, Serius radio, Nav system and IPOD integration. I had to also replace the amp with somthing more substantial (JL Audio) to drive the Bowes speakers (which now sound great).
One option that isn't necessarily ONLY for bluetooth, is one of several portable gps systems that offer that capability. You could wire up a spot in your lower console to place a garmin unit that offers bluetooth, mp3 player (through an sd card), and of course great nav features. You can get a remote antenna, hardwire it, and use the line-out to connect to the existing stereo in a nice clean install.
I say this simply because I just ordered a Garmin nuvi 660 that I'm going to install in the same way. I wanted to keep the stock stereo system, and while I'm not a fan of having a portable gps on my dash or window, I think hardwired in the lower console will be nice- plus I can remove it easily and not worry about it getting stolen.
For phone only you can do what I did and go with the Motorola Hf1000 bluetooth kit. I wired it up to the phone prep connector which is behind the CD storage and cubby hole in front of the center console (all US and CDN cars have it) and used the becker cable kit ($17) to hook into the radio. I ran the phone mic behind the a-pillar and around the windshield trim to the dome light area. Took me about an hour total to install. THe system is fantastic: it mutes the radio and pauses CDs when using the phone and displays "phone" on the radio, uses the car speakers for the phone and announces caller numbers and name (if programed into it). It announces "phone one ready" whenever I start the car and it finds my phone. Sound quality is terrific and the best is that I found it new for $69 through an online liquidator.
I use the Parrot CK3100 with the OEM CDR-220 headunit. Plug-n-play to the HU's ISO connectors. I put the unit at the same place as pongobaz's and the mic on the steering wheel column.
Do the Parrot's integrate at all with the PCM2 head units? Or am I looking at a solution that costs more than my phone, ala the Ipod connectors?
I'm looking for a bluetooth setup just for a hands free phone solution.
