However my car is still pretty quiet...I'd guess they make very little difference in sound if you're still using the stock cats.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have anyone used a set of GHL headers? It seems that their design is different than many others and I wanted to know the quality of GHL. Will there be any improvement in performance? Will there be any difference in sounds?

POST 2Original post

That's indeed an interesting design; different to the stock or other equal lenght headers. I went with cheap e-bay headers for $200 which I found to have the same design and characteristics than more expensive e.g. Fabspeed headers. Quality of headers and gaskets appears very good; weight almost the same as stock headers. In combination with my GHL mufflers, the sound experience did improve with the headers. I've now already at low RPM a very nice exhaust tone. Performance wise I feel that I lost low end torque (<3k RPM); more push at high end.

POST 3Original post

My experience on my old '99 was like hwk72's, better sound but no more power. Personally, I'd pass on the headers and spend the money elsewhere.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Since I already have the headers, should I sell it?

If you're expecting more power, you're likely to be disappointed.

I already have low expectation for N/A cars in general. Is the sound significantly different? My car have the GHL muffler right now and is fairly quiet.

POST 7Original post

I have the GHL sport exhaust along with Carrera Sport Headers sold by Suncost Porsche and I love the sound and my Butt Dyno reads a power gain of 19 HP but, it is at the higher RPM range.

POST 8Original post

I have GHL headers and mufflers on my car...however they were already present when I bought it so I can't give you a before and after difference. However my car is still pretty quiet...I'd guess they make very little difference in sound if you're still using the stock cats. Andy
