Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Alex at Sharkwerks told me that the current EVO SC is not compatible with the tip due to the third radiator location used by both the tip and the SC..
Leading evidence: 'Use by both the tip and the sc' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use by both the tip and the sc' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

What I mean is, to get a smooth shift, Engineers use a variety of things to ease the trans into the next gear (wavy washers/steels, low pump pressures).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I believe the trans will hold the power but it is the "soft" shift between the gears that will end its life quickly. What I mean is, to get a smooth shift, Engineers use a variety of things to ease the trans into the next gear (wavy washers/steels, low pump pressures). Essentially, the trans "slips" a little to make the transition smooth. This "slipping" will be more pronounced with the S/C than before shortening the trans life.
If you were to let off the throttle before gear changes, it would help.
Rebuilds of these trans have not been favorable from what I have read. One time I have seen a shift improving kit that would beef up the trans for the S/C but have not been able to locate since.
Point taken, but at that age if a car had fewer than ~40k miles it's a bit of a garage queen, and if it has more than (say) 50k miles then S/Cing the engine has some risks according to RUF. I'm not intending to rain on the parade of any happy supercharged '99 owners, just speculating that a somewhat older car might not be the perfect place to start. OTOH, a '99 already in need of an engine replacement might be ideal.
If you ask Jason....goes by the name of StuartFirm here....he supercharged a 99 and tracked it till it had over 75K miles on it and it was going strong till his buddy up ended it on the track. He drove that car hard, and it took everything he dished out and more. It would still be going if it hadn't been wrecked. He had the EVO system in it.
