Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Yes there are a few jerks and you're not going to change anyone's mind on religion or politics, but there's plenty of good people that hang there and interesting discussion on a variety of other subjects.

The sad thing is when a poster is not prepared to change an opinion when confronted with facts.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been in Victoria, British Canada for the past few days on business, and haven't been able to check in here on rennlist. Where'd OT go? Did someone push it over the edge again? Or maybe OT was banned from Canada?
Yeah, but you really can't have an intellegent discussion when the people you're dealing with have the cognitive powers of a dill pickle.
I know some of those guys go out of their way to be jerks, but I have no patience for anyone who is not prepared to hear and be swayed by a point of view other than the one rattling around their own empty heads. That's not discussion, that's argument for the sake of it. I have better things to do with my time than waste it on people who are not open minded.

You need some thick skin to if you're going to be highly opinionated, but who takes the interwebs seriously anyway?
In honor of Riad's 12k post, a classic OT thread:

This forum has too much OT, that's why John started the OT forum to keep the tech forums On Topic, but to each his own.
True, some opinions cannot be changed and that's fine. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even when it's wrong - as long as they recognize that it's just an opinion and not a fact.
The sad thing is when a poster is not prepared to change an opinion when confronted with facts. Obviously I'm fairly thick skinned, but I'm fact driven. I convince and am convinced by facts and not opinions. Even on the topics of religion and politics facts still rule. When someone stubbornly sticks with an opinion despite the facts, then that's a waste of a discussion.
I made the mistake of hanging out there for a little while and attempted intelligent discussion. Each time I presented facts to refute an opinion the posted quickly resorted to insult. That's the reason I don't go in there anymore.
