Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've posted a description of my heating my GT3 seat here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-gt3-forum/387922-diy-heated-gt3-seat-or-warm-buns-on-winter-drives.html I normally post/read the threads here, since my car isn't a GT3 - and thought there may be others who might not see the thread.

POST 3Original post

Nice write up. I was just thinking how much I will miss my seat heaters cruising around with the top down in winter. My car has the seat heaters option, do you know if these seat heaters can be installed using the OEM seat heater harnesses and switches?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good question, Smackboy. The factory wiring digram shows the two seat pads (from the factory setup) wired in series. The kit I installed has them wired in parallel. I see two unknowns with using the factory switch and relay: a) unknown if resistance of heating pad is the same; b) unknown if putting 3 pads in series (instead of 2) will be compatible with the relay. But, if I had all the parts, I'd give it a try! What's the worse that can happen? You set your *** on fire? Seriously, I imagine the worst would be burning out the relay. If you pursue it, let me know. I'd love to know the results.

POST 6Original post

I did an install of the stock Porsche seat heaters. There was a post, but the pictures no longer show up. Anyone is interested I can send them the description with pictures. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/26812-how-not-to-add-heat-to-your-gt3-seats.html

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LOL Pat. And here I though I was in uncharted territory! I would love to see your pictures. Email them (or post them here) if you can.
