Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, I bought a spare rear section of the 996 wiring harness when I rebuilt my Vesuvio 996. I'm trying to figure how much of the wiring harness on my Iris Blue 996 I will have to replace. The top of the picture shows the engine side of the harness. Does anybody know how far forward the section of harness that I have extends? I hoping to replace from this section forward with new harness (actually used off a donor car). Do I have to worry about compatibility issues (traction control, heated or electric seats, etc.), if I'm not using any of the factory stereo system? Thanks for any advice.

Mark, sorry I can't help with the question, but you may want to keep that thing locked up at night - it looks like it may get up and start terrorizing the neighborhood!

POST 3Original post

Every Porsche wire harness is custom. You will need to match up the options for the one you have with the options on the car you intend to put it in. If there is too much there you may be able to remove the pins and shrink tube the wire ends. But if you have missing wires you will need to add them. Sorry, but this is likely to be a real pain...
