let me know how much they charge in cosa mesa....my passenger side cable snapped and needs repair...I was thinking about a new top with glass window...I think I read $1250 somewhere, but I doubt that this is including install.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was wondering if anybody has a recommendation for an upholstery shop in OC (SoCal) to fix a 1999 996 cabriolet top separation (glue). I'm going to call Costa Mesa upholstery tomorrow but just wanted a couple of options ... I was quoted $520 by a shop in CM (17th St & Pomona, not sure about the name) and the guy was thinking he may need to add some canvas near the bottom to be able to do the stitch around. I haven't really heard about this solution (adding more canvas) so I am not sure if they have done this before. I've seen some posts for $500 that included a new plastic window? Thanks in advance guys!

POST 2Original post

Less than $500 for sure, have heard of $250 even. And that is for sewing in a new plastic window.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

$500 seems reasonable, $250 is even better. This is compared to $1500-1900 for a new one

POST 4Original post

POST 5Original post

I don't know an upholstery shop, but I'll bet these guys would - http://www.gmgracing.com/tuning.shtml

goto Mike's Auto Tops & upholstery in Mission Viejo off of Via Fabricante. He will do a great job and give you a good price. I believe he charged me $250. 25701 Taladro Cir Ste D Mission Viejo, CA 92691 Phone: [phone removed]

Mike's Auto Tops - Mission Viejo (somewhere on this post) Spoke to Mike, cost is $500, usually one day with appointment (clear or tinted) I guess the $250 deal is not going to happen I will let you know what happens, I'm probably headed over to the Costa Mesa shop if I can't find somebody else. Will post back when I get it done.
