Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Again! I saw an ad in Excellence for I forge rims. They have a pic in there of a set of yellow and black rims on a speed yellow turbo. I know it is subjective, but I love the look. Anyone had any experience with I Forge? Any other comments or suggestions would be appreciated also! Franklin 2002 996 C2 2001 320CLK 1979 308 GTS

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

HaHa, OK, Why? Is it the color or do you know something about the wheels themselves?

POST 4Original post

Do a search and you will the answer you are looking for. This has been talked about for several years.

POST 6Original post

In a nutshell: 1. Heavy 2. Undisclosed offsets that are WRONG for the car (they won't give them out) 3. Not fully forged

POST 7Original post

pros: they make pretty wheels (e.g. senekas) they offer aggressive deep dish lip and they fit well cons: zero motorsport history poor service questionable quality especially their clearcoats comments: i couldn't care less if they're heavier than your wannabe pro driver nerd BBS magnesium wheels because boy do they look good and the iforged wheels are really not much worse than HRe. what HRE has is somewhat better customer service/support and a better name if that's your thing so go for those though they are pricier than your iforged wheels. for great looking wheels with quality/motorsport experience to back it up, check out offerings from OZ, BBS, and Work. Champion offers pretty good looking lightweight wheels as well if saving weight is a priority for you. for me, i want a balance of great looks and quality.

POST 9Original post

I was a former I-forged owner myself.... but their customer service was poor and the clincher was that my Daytona (multi-piece wheels) that were supposed to be repairable were not. I ended up curbing a wheel and I-forged basically said I had to buy a new one... I am now running Forgeline wheels (WC3P with chrome outer lip and gunmetal centers) and am very happy with them. Beautiful quality and true 3-piece wheels. You can even see the individual parts pricing and repair options on their website. Not sure on strength but they seem to be holding up very well on my daily driver... and the weight: 21lbs for 19x8" and 24lbs for 19x10". www.forgeline.com David

I heard that HRE's were banned from tracks, that guys were breaking them.

POST 11Original post

Oh by the way... those are the first pics of my car on the forums... so does that count for my newbie pics?

POST 12Original post

it's strange ppl continue to ask same Q about wheels. there are only a handful of good wheels, and most are $4k and over, a few are around $3k. if you do a seach, you will see what are GOOD wheels. btw, stock wheels are actually very very good too.

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 4693702

yeah, I wouldn't go with HRE's... stick with the "real" wheel companies... BBS, Work, OZ, or even Enkei

POST 15Original post

Fikse also makes an excellent light weight but expensive forged 3 piece wheel. They are race tested and I found their customer service excellent as well.

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 4693482

Fikse wheels should definitely be considered as well.

POST 18Original post

It really comes down to what the OP what to use them for. Track? Street? Dual purpose? Winter?

Why not??? It's a pic posted of my car... and my first autocross in the Porsche to boot!

I have had some good experience with CCW wheels on my M3. I am thinking about getting the CCW classic wheels for my 996 too. They only cost $2400 for a brand new set.

POST 24Original post

Quotes source post: 4698449

"HELL NO" because no introduction and no car info. Besides that, since it's burried in another thread, you will not the usual warm welcome the guys will give you if you start your own thread.

POST 25Original post

I just wanted to add HRE has excellent customer service. I had the innner lip on a 540 damaged by a chunk of brick, shipped the wheel to them, they declared it a manufacturing defect and basically refinished the wheel to brand new and sent it back to me for zero cost. The only downside being the other 3 looked kind of dirty next to the refinished one.
