Then you have 2 sets of OEM wheels (which are lighter than the BSA copies BTW) and if needed, you can refinish one set for summer.

So I'm getting a winter wheel and tire package. My guy has proposed BSAs, 18", same as my twists. Now, I'm torn: I think the twists are among the best complements to the design of this car. On the other hand, mine are a bit banged up from the previous owner, and it seems weird to put fresh wheels on in the winter and store the 7 year old set. And I almost like the BSAs, so maybe they should be my summer wheels and I should run the twists in the winter. Or I could get the twists refinished. Which is a bit OCD, considering I was living with them just fine up until I saw a shiny set of new wheels... What would you do?

Do what I did. Buy a set of used Porsche turbo twist wheels...lots around. Then you have 2 sets of OEM wheels (which are lighter than the BSA copies BTW) and if needed, you can refinish one set for summer. I bet you'll save money too. I lucked out and found a set of hollow spoke (even lighter!) TT wheels for $1300 CAD last year on the UCR forum; but those only fit widebodies. Those are now my summers and the heavier but identical looking C4S wheels are my winters.

Glad someone out there loves the Twist rims as much as I do! I bought a set of 17" twist rims for the winter, saving my 18" twists for the summer/spring/fall.
