Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Anyone know if Porsche carries these as replacements, or possibly if the 996 coolant temp sensor is used on other cars ?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The 4 pin coolant temp sensor connector( the one on the engine harness) has fallen apart and I dont know where to get one. Anyone know if Porsche carries these as replacements, or possibly if the 996 coolant temp sensor is used on other cars ?
TE Connectivity makes all the connectors for Porsche Audi V/W and BMW. If you look really close ( magnifying glass) you should be able to see a number on it. Search the number on the TE website.
Also you can check BMW V/W, they sell connectors separately and may be using the same one.
Looks like 1-965526-1 connector isnt available. Does anyone have one for sale on a broken or partial harness, and I have a majority of the other connectors if anyone wants them as this is a swap harness and I am discarding the unneeded ones. Thanks
It's available from VW. I can't tell what it is from your picture. The number you quoted is an internal production number and can't be looked up easily. The actual part# should start with 3A0 or 4A0 or something like that.

The connector number for the 4 pin coolant temp sensor is 210 540 74 81 a Mercedes part number for those that are in need of it. This is for a 2001 carrera.
