Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used to race SCCA ITC with a 1980 VW Scirocco in the early-1990s and I ran Panasports back then.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi everyone,
I am not a fan of putting wheels from newer model years on my cars, but I just love the look of the Carrera Sports. They are like a modern interpretation of panasport wheels.
Did some research and just found pictures of 2 996 GT3s with them but no close ups and very limited information on fitment. Well, I found and bought some (8.5 x 19 ET 55 and 11.5 x 19 ET 67) and put 235/35/19 and 305/30/19 Bridgestone S-04 Pilot Sports. So documenting for future generations.
The rear wheels are borderline to my taste, I wish they were 5 mm more towards the inside. The front currently have 15 mm spacers, however I think 10 mm will be more to my linking.
I will be very interested to hear how these work out for you, as I too love the look of those wheels.
Since you can always adjust spacer width, I would be more concerned about the rears than the fronts. Are you at stock ride height? Stock inner fenders (no rolling)?
Thanks for your research!
I think they look great! Please share a better side shot when you can. Rear tire has a lot or width with 305 on a 19 inch rim - no rubbing? Also, how's the ride quality with 19s and that size tire?
The car has H&R lowering springs. I only drove it around the block with no rubbing. Weather in the Pacific NW not great still, as soon as I get a proper drive in, will report back on rubbing and drive quality.
Here is a side pic,
That name always makes me perk up.
I used to race SCCA ITC with a 1980 VW Scirocco in the early-1990s and I ran Panasports back then.
Those are some of my favorite wheels!
You're right, they do look very similar.
Thanks!
This thread was sorely missing a side picture.
That looks really nice...except for the center caps...they need to point to the valve stem.
Reporting back after 30 minute test drive including freeway speeds. Ride is a bit more harsh with some increased road noise, I would say neither are significant.
With zero modifications other than lowering springs and 15mm spacers up front, there is no rubbing. I tested full lock on both directions too.
Thanks for all the nice comments, hopefully this fully answers any questions on Carrera Sport fitment.
I will join PCA for sure, I am considering to swing by the Bremerton Autocross activity tomorrow just to look.
