Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'gt3' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'gt3' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend turbo' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

lost it, I would recommend the turbo because you will always want more speed.

Riad...you live 20 minutes from me....why don't we get a Fun Run organized over here and cross post it?

The new gt3 uses the c4 widebody platform.............
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking at upgrading choices are 996 special edition with power pack sports suspension, exhaust etc,, low mileage, or 996 turbo
Opinions and why that choice extremly welcome
Yes, what are you upgrading from. This could make a big difference. I currently have a c2 996 and when I upgrade it would be to a TT. Then probably a GT3. But if you are upgrading from a different or older model the 996 is a beautiful choice. The exhaust sound is brilliant, the acceleration pure and handling well, any curve, any time, any place!!!!
Has anyone been tracking the TT prices? Hmmmm??
lost it, I would recommend the turbo because you will always want more speed. I have had my 996 c2 for some time now and with the prices being resonable, I am leaning towards the TT upgrade.
What are you plans? Daily driver, DE events, any plans for mods?
996 TT's are a great value, but the thing that i could never like about it is the turbo lag. The throttle response is lacking and it's not linear either, but for some people i understand that the swell of power makes it fun - just not for me.
the GT3 is insane with the latest iteration being my fav 911, but i do like the widebody of the 997 C4S.
sorry for the tangent!
Drooled all over a 2006 997 C4S in Lapis Blue last week. Not impressed with the cab aspect, but that shape in Lapis Blue = WOW!
I really envy you C4S guys. While they look good on the net, they are BEAUTIFUL in person.
Riad...you live 20 minutes from me....why don't we get a Fun Run organized over here and cross post it? A nice jaunt up the palisades from Rockland and into Bear Mountain and Storm King would be nice. I used to organize them on Pelican, but got real busy with work and kids. Whattaya think?
We would end up at the Brauhaus just north of New Paltz.....always a good turnout and fantastic time.
Oops...did I just hijack this thread? I think the issue has been addressed anyway.

well its a hard choice, i had an opportunity to drive a Caymen S, frankly it did absolutely nothing for me, even my missus said the same thing, seems capable enough but not too involving..
The turbo is a rush but it feels somehow too capable and stable, not boring but i dont think you could really push the envelope with this one, at least not on the road..
the 996 with the power pack, sports exhaust and sporst suspension felt like more of a drivers car, I felt more connected somehow.
Its mainly for a weekend car and the odd track day, plus some long distance driving such as can be found here..

, mines the red coupe in the top gallery (summer tour).. btw this was a fantastic trip, that u probaly dont have access to in the states :P
I do love the power of the Turbo and the rush of it and always hankered after one, but then theres the service costs and depreciation monster to consider..
but as some say it seems to be bottoming out whereby the 996 special will continue to depreciate,,
hmm time for a coin flick i think.
