I actually discovered this problem when I changed the balance to the left and there was no sound coming from the left speakers.

Oh and make sure you check the balance in the Deck option menu, it seems rudimentary but I have seen worse!!!!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dear friends: I would hate to bother you with this, however, the left-hand side of the speaker system on my 03 C2 is not working. It is an original single CD player with a disk changer in the front. I do not want to take it to our local Auto Stereo Shop. Is it possible to access the wiring without removing the entire center consule? If not, where should I start? Many thanks.

POST 2Original post

First of all Welcome.......This is no bother and would love to help you, but first you have to show a couple pics of your car!!! Oh and make sure you check the balance in the Deck option menu, it seems rudimentary but I have seen worse!!!!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did post a photo the last time I posted a question. Do I need to do it every time? Please inform me, I am not familiar with the procedure. Many thanks. Oh, what is the balance in the Deck option?

POST 4Original post

No, I just wanted to see it. I didnt realize the difficulty. I just like pictures of Porsches. In the menu of your deck you should see options like balance, fader, bass, treble, etc..... On the balance make sure it is not either a negative or a positive. It should be a zero.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry Michael, I thought you were talking about something that has to do with this web site! I actually discovered this problem when I changed the balance to the left and there was no sound coming from the left speakers. As I said, I live in a small college town and I would hate to take it to a 14 year old to dismantle the center console. Many thanks.

POST 7Original post

If both front and rear left side is gone, I'd suspect that the amp has probably blown the left channel amplifier. It is unlikely that the head unit has come unplugged, unless you've had some work done in the dash recently. The wiring itself (either from the amp to the left side speakers or the head unit to the amp) is not something that should be an issue either. Being an '03, I think you have the MOST system which is a lot more complicated than the pre-MOST system. Essentially, you're stereo is hooked into a network that communicates with all kinds of stuff in the car. The safest thing is probably to take it to the dealer to diagnose.

POST 8Original post

The car is beautiful. I have never seen it, so it was worth it! No other ideas on the stereo other than the amp, blown speakers (do you rock hard ), or the wires. Is it under warranty!
