Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Check laws in your state' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check laws in your state' (1 discussions). Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was driving to work this morning and saw a silver-blue Porsche 550 Spyder! Its an old model but it looked really nice and very well maintained. The weather was also great for the open air car.
I was following his car for a few moments, then thought I'd take a snaps to share with you guys. So I took 2 snaps on my crappy camera phone - while driving - so please pardon the quality.
The driver was really enjoying himself - Porsche style ! And you know, the exhaust sounded nice too. Not overpowering, just ... nice!
Enjoy !
"Replica" was the thing going on in my head too. But I'm NOT a stickler for labels - it looked good, sounded nice, looked like it drove well and the driver seemed to be enjoying his car. Who am I to pass judgment!
On a related note, a friend of mine has an open air black 356 replica. Its not fast at all, but it is so unique on the road that it's SO cool. I'm totally in for quality replicas - but only for models worth resurrecting.
A while back there was a "996" replica on eBay which had a toyota engine undernearth the hood.
THAT is not replica country. That is deep into poser territory ! (eg:

)
If I recall correctly, it's about 35 grand for a turnkey replica with one of the bigger engines.
Less for less.
One or two companies make good ones.
Beck is best known, but not alone (see also Thunderranch and Vintage Spyders)
If you want one, check the laws in your state. Sometimes there are emissions issues intertwined with model year issues. I don't have one because the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Massachusetts made it too damn hard.
I am not sure if I am more jealous you saw that or work in Carmel Valley. Probably that you drive to work in Carmel Valley. That makes me incredibly envious as I sit here in the dog days of Houston when it is now Africa hot, humid and just miserable overall. I see that awesome fog, think of the cool breeze blowing off the pacific and hovering over the bay there. I can smell that incredible sea air, see the ice plant, and everything that makes that place one of my most favorite places on Earth. I cannot wait to visit again next month. I love it there.
Carmel Valley @ San Diego
, right? Cos there is another Carmel @ Monterey - which is nice too
. I think you're probably talking of Monterey.
But hey - even the one @ San Diego is neat! Home at west end of 56 and work on the east end of 56. Sometimes I drive even more west (1 extra mile) till the pacific and park on the shore for 30 mins or so (solitude!) before continuing the drive to home. The only problem is that 56 is cop infested, at least 1 or 2 cops on the 8 mile stretch everytime I'm on it. So its 70mpg and cruise control :|
$35k for a replica death-trap, or $35k for a well optioned 996 MKI?
No brainer, I think. Unless of course, you have money to burn and like people pointing and staring.
Actually the 550 replicas are fairly common. One of my coworkers owns one and he loves driving it. I believe its curb weight is well under 2K lbs. I don't believe that you'll find many genuine 550s on the road since thay are worth mega bucks.
