Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'former' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'former' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check with bumperplugs' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I'm gonna check with BumperPlugs to see if they have something like this or can show me what it looks like.

Does anyone know where I can find a rear '996' badge to replace where it generally says 'Carrera'.

There's that link but it's a bit expensive don't you think ($450 for 5 letters, and if you only use 3, as in 666, you still get charged $450).

Personally I would opt for buying the 3 911 badges but using all 9's upside down
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I know some of you have 911 badges. Where did you get yours from and if you were to turn your 9 to make a 6 would it look right? (Maybe I can purchase 3 911 badges to make 1 996 if the upside down 9 looked right in the font to resemble a 6.)
TheSpeedDemon - what do you think since you have 911 in the back there?
Actaully right now I have no badge on the car but I do have a black Carrera badge that I will be putting on shortly.
I saw a thread earlier about custom badges but the cost was pretty steep, and I have not seen or heard of a 996 from the factory, so modifying the 911 with 2 more 9's could work but not sure how it will look (don't want it too look tacky now do you).

Eric at bumperplugs has them of course. They are about 40ish bucks for the full size porsche numbers. And he also has smaller ones, but there more, I know, I know. Email him from his site! Already set up order for em...
I had my shop install the 911 emblem. The kid that installed it was very proud that he had gotten it centered perfectly. However, I knew he was slightly dyslexic when I saw the numbers installed as 119.

I did a thread about a month ago called
Rear Badge: Yes or No?
, That had a lot of similarities.
But after the responses I received on that thread I agree with Tim here as well, if the badge (if used) isn't 911 or Carrera, only people within the Porsche community would know what it means, unless that is the goal or not a concern of the owner (did I just say what I think I said, agree with Tim...JK Tim, your input is always valuable
)
Thanks for the reminder Speed, I knew it seemed familiar, so your still rollin in the buff huh? I have a silver 911 on my white P car. I have a black carrera at home and recently ordered a black 996, cant decide. The wheels Im waiting to be shipped (please hurry DHL) are black with a silver lip. So, decisions decisions......
Ha Ha
Nice Tim, This has already taken too much conversation. I guess youll know I changed it when my avatar changes. Or I tell you, but probably the former..
I saw that nameyourporsche link but for $450 it is quite steep for what you're getting. I like the idea of using 996 as that's what it is. I'm just not sure if I use an upside down 9 from 996 if it'll look odd (given in the porsche font, the tail on the 9 is real short).
I'm gonna check with BumperPlugs to see if they have something like this or can show me what it looks like.
For now I am rolling without the badge, just because the last attempt to add the badge I thought I had it perfect but not quite and the removal did not leave me with a second attempt. But I do have another black Carrera badge and I will have a Porsche body shop install it along with the rear spoiler (aka wicker bill or gurney flap) on my rear wing.
Can't wait to see the new wheels on the car. As for the badge, yep decisions decisions...
Yes, we DO stock the '996' logo, along with '986' '993' '911' and just about all factory emblems as well (GT2, GT3, etc). And we can do them in any color, including flat black (if not already black, like the chrome turbo logo).

WERA 371 How about putting the price back there? Seems like that's what everyone wants to know.
That's a good one! Seems for some reason pulling up in one of these P cars you get everyone thinking it's a 100K+ car.
I'm working out some details with Eric now!
I was at moonshadows in malibu, the place that makes my car look like a honda civic in comparison to other cars, a couple weekends ago and saw the worst I have ever seen. A guy pulls up in a 99 tiptronic c2 cab, with a techart front bumper, some god awful wheels, and his emblem on the back was all crooked and said "GT 69"
Needless to say covered head to toe in bling.....
I thought I had seen it all.......
How about the vehicles with the ball sack ... just ridiculous, even saw a photo shoot of a Mustang in a top notch magazine and it had a pair on it in the pictures, what were they thinking I do not know.
So hopefully I do not see that appear on a Porsche.
But recently I have been waiting for someone with photoshop to put the fake intake bits you see them do now on the front fenders trying to look like a Bentley. Seen a lot of cars all makes rolling with them on the side of there cars, ridiculous
