In both the tint and bra the installer is the key to the end result, especially if they are using the same product.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

If you have had a clear bra or ceramic window tint applied to your car did they do an excellent job? Did they put the ceramic tint on the back window? If so what is the name of the company or companies?

I have 35 on sides and 15 on the rear.
The key to the finish is the installer. I see you do not live where I do, if you did then I will hook you up with the person that does the best job around.
I do have the clear bra but it was put on by someone else and it is a 3M product, but I am not happy with the installer's work so no referral from me.
The specs are almost the same as Huper Optic but the color looks darker. I'm not opposed to that film I'm just trying to find a decent installer. The last two out of three bra's I had put on, all by the same company the quality was on the slide.
Not heard of Huper Optic but I take your word for the specs as I am not a tint expert just my good friend who does all my cars is but he does not own a Porsche.
Yeah this is my first 3M bra and I was not impressed, so the next one I will be asking around.
In both the tint and bra the installer is the key to the end result, especially if they are using the same product.
Here's a side shot of the car:
I will Ty thats why I'm asking for help with installers. There is only one formula1 installer in the Phoenix area and two in Tucson AZ. I've been using the Huper Optic as it was easily available where I was buying my cars. They wont put in on the back window, a lot of people don't know this because of the Gold and silver layers in the film. It can kill the radio and Nav signals. What I dont like about the HO is it's very light. I like a 35% tint and they don't offer that. I'm going to call the local guy tomorrow and drop by his shop if possible
So with that information about the HO stuff, looks like you will be making a trip to the Formula One installers to get the good stuff and get it put on the back as you can see the Pinnacle stuff will not interfere with anything aand has the shade you are looking for.
One more pic to show it from the back
So 15 in the back and 35 on the sides, just perfect IMHO and my tint guy loves the result.
I live on AZ and have the Ceramic type but it was installed by the previous owner. Good luck, it is necessary here. Demon the car looks good with the dark tint, I think its a mandatory mod...
Danny's Family (on Scottsdale Road near Bell) does all cars for all the high end dealers north of Bell on Scottsdale Road such as Porsche, BMW- Mini, Jag, Mercedes, Audi. Landrover, etc.
Also if you Call Scottsdale Porsche they can give you the name of their clear bra guy. He works up in that area all the time and they do several clear bras a month for ttose same dealerships.
Discalimer:
I have not had any work done by either of these companies this is just word on the street. Hope this helps.
my dad had his clear bra put on at the scottsdale dealer, so I assume it was installed by the individual referenced above. If so, I thought the job was perfect. He had that 996 for 1.5 years and when he traded it in the car looked the same as the day the bra was installed.
All my records from the previous owner (prior to November 06) was done at Porsche of Scottsdale so I imagine that is where mine was done, and the work is beautiful. Im not sure what the cost was!
Those dealers are all owned by United Auto Group and that is where I've had my good and bad experiences. Dannys Car Wash does the entire tint on site as does the bra installers. They both have permanent areas to do their work in.. For what they charge to install the 3m bra and the Huper optic tint there work should be flawless. Judging by my personal experience only Im seen there work quality suffer over the last couple of years. That is why Im looking for other installers. If need be I will take a little vacation in the SD area and have it done there if I find suitable installers.
I try my best, it is my civic duty to run up and cover them with a cup like hand motion at my earliest convinience. Wifey doesnt like that job responsibility though, but I explain that its for the good of Arizona.
Ok I'm confused, is this in regards to the Christie's comment or the tint?
Also Luis, last month I taked to you about SoCal at the June Cupz and Coffee in Scottsdale.... SoCal has it's downside...I thought the 101 was bad on the clutch. Today on the I-5 from Newport to LA ~20mi. 1.5 hours.....I was this: -> <- close to turning off and pushing.
The week-ends are full of twisties that I cant find in AZ though...
Luis, I also thought this would be a good opportunity for those who are not in the know about the meet, mainly because I just found out yesterday. Here is the information as quoted from Luis' post from the Western US Forum.
"AZ Porsche Owners Cars & Coffee. Our first meet will be on Saturday May 26th 2007. We will be meeting at Cupz Coffee in North Scottsdale (11615 N 136th St Scottsdale AZ 85259, [phone removed]) on the last Saturday of every month at 9am. Well hang out, talk about cars and leave for a local cruise trough some of our great roads at 10:30 am sharp that should last about an hour. We will make a stop or two for some photo opportunities. Go ahead and invite any of your Porsche friends as any and all Porsches are welcome.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
Mark your calendars for future 2007 dates:

See you there
Tint Guy= [phone removed] (Chris Mueller) Specializes in high end cars and uses the Huperoptic (sp) ceramic tint you guys speak of. He did my buddies 997TT and it came out perfect. He came to our office and was done in less than 2 hours.
Clear Bra Guy= [phone removed] (Jimmy Matamoros) Uses 3M clear bra, did my GT3 which turned out great. Highly recomended. Finishing touch (Arguably the best body shop in AZ) uses them exclusively.
Thank you.
Here are some shots of our last 2 Cars & Coffee's.
Hope to see you guys there next Saturday!

Huper has 2 products that would qualify: the dual layer ceramic and the Select line. HO has the only dual layer ceramic on the market which gives it better heat rejection and not as dark or reflective. There are NO metals in this product. When you said the HO had the semi-precious metals, that would be the Select line which has names like SEC and DREI. The DREI I think is the best film knowm to mankind, but as you said, is not ideal for NAV. I dont think it will hinder your radio, but increased the odds for the NAV. If your car has nav, go with the dual layer ceramic.. They also just rolled out a single layer which is not as expensive or as effective in blocking heat. Hope this helps!
Queen, thanks I've looked at this but I want a little more color in the film...darker. I agree about the Drei being the best, I just did the windows in my house with it and it has made quite a difference stopping heat from coming through the windows.
