I know a lot of people who blame the rotors when they are simply putting far too hard of a racing pad to use with.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi there....this seems like a good deal....anyone agree? I don't need discs now, but was researching what prices are.
Are Zimmermans OEM for Porsche? I have a C4s, so I need the bigger brake pads.
check it out......if you know of a better deal...please post here...thanks.

EDIT.....too tired I guess...this is for an older car...but Ill leave it up in case anyone else benefits.
Soooo...where is the best and least expensive place to order pads from? From what I've researched....I'd like to grab Mintex or Textar pads......no noise from them! Any input is appreciated.

I had Zimmermans on my M3 and they were the absolute worst piece of brake metal I could of bought...
With that being said, I have known some people who had success...
sunset porsche in Oregon. I just ordered rotors from them - $107 each for the front. I'm not sure about pads and sensors - I don't use the sensors.

or you can try suncoast porsche in Florida (

)
no affiliation, just happy with their prices and service.

I bought the zimmermans. I don't know if its the rotors, or the pads I bought (mintex), but I still have an annoying squeal, even after installing brand new factors vibration dampners. Also, the zimmerman's rust like crazy on the hats and the outer edge of the rotor, where they are not coated with a rust-inhibiting protectant. The oem units are coated. I saved a few bucks by buying the aftermarket units, but if I had to do it all over again I would have went with oem through sunset.
Zimmerman is an OE supplier to Porsche. I have had excellent results with cross-drilled Zimmerman rotors on my Audis.
You can buy Zimmermans with a Porsche P/N or with an Zimmeran P/N. Both will be fine.
I don't know if Zimmerman or Brembo make the OEM rotors for the newer cars, but Zimmerman certainly made all the OEM rotors for the older cars; including 930's. Saying Zimmerman is junk is saying that the OEM parts are junk. Normally noise issues are associated with pads AND rotors. I know a lot of people who blame the rotors when they are simply putting far too hard of a racing pad to use with. If you are going to run a harder pad, you shoudl be running a hardered or higher heat range rotor.
If the majority of your driving is spent on the street and off the track and you would like to stay squeak free your best bet is to stick with OE brake pads that come in a box with the Porsche logo on the side and purchased from a Porsche dealer. The OEM pads sold by aftermarket vendors have nothing in common with the OE pads other than coming from the same manufacturer, the pad composition is different.
SHW Automotive has been the exclusive brake disc supplier to Porsche since 1996 and prior to that (1989-95) it was ATS.
IF
Otto Zimmerman GMBH was ever an OE supplier it was possibly over thirty years ago, long before even the 964.
Compared to actual OE brake discs the current Zimmerman rotors are junk. They don't last half as long and the hubs require painting or they rust out in a matter of months.
