My argument is that this car was a CPO, and the issue was evident from day one.

Suggestion
I'd take the pads out, completely clean off the grease and remove the rear dampeners which are no longer stuck on anyway.

I'd rather spend the hour or two myself rather than wait for NA anyway...although if they decide to replace the brakes....I'm not gonna complain...just not counting on that.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
Just an update....need some input. As some of you know, my brakes have been scueeling (my cue button is busted). After some research, I pulled the pads and put some Moly on the backing plates of each pad. The dampeners were still in the rears, but not stuck to the pads. Anyhow, while the scueeling has decreased ever so slightly, I now hear what sounds like each pad make a clunk sound when I stop in reverse, and again once I stop after rolling foward. Once it clunks forward, it won't clunk again unless I back up.
Anyhow, I guess the Moly lube is causing this movement with the pads? It doesn't effect the performance at all...just want to make sure it's not a problem.
On a side note, I called Porsche NA today, and opened a claim. My argument is that this car was a CPO, and the issue was evident from day one. I was advised by the dealer that the pads were new, and to let them bed. Anyhow, they never bedded right cuz the discs weren't replaced or sanded prior to the new pads being installed. Soooo, while this is wear item not usually covered, they are working with me to make me happy. I simply said that they woudn't have this issue on a new car, so why should the CPO have it as well? This is my third P car, so I think they want to make me happy.
In the end, if they don't help, I can understand it, and will simply just run out the pads and take the proper steps on when I replace them. I STILL F'N LOVE THIS CAR. It is RIDICULOUS. I smile everytime I rev past 4K. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.
I'll report back on the NA stuff too. Any input is appreciated, just wanted to make sure I didn't f things up at all. Since I hear it on all the wheels, I would think that the pads are shifting a small amount cuz they are greased on the backing plates, which are up against the piston.
Best,
J
You're safe but Moly on the pads is a bad idea with Porsche brakes. I'd take the pads out, completely clean off the grease and remove the rear dampeners which are no longer stuck on anyway. Then try the Weltmeister anti-squeal liners that I mentioned in the other thread. Make sure they stick to the backs of the pads. This will cost you less than $20 including shipping. If it doesn't work, then you can start spending more $$ for new parts.
Macho...thanks again. All clips are in as well as other hardware. I just went ahead and ordered the weltmeister pads...ordered two full sets since the shipping was the same for two day delivery....only 3 bucks more than regular delivery. Guess I'll pull the pads...clean them off...remove dampeners, and glue the pads to the back. Any suggestions on what adhesive to use? I'd rather spend the hour or two myself rather than wait for NA anyway...although if they decide to replace the brakes....I'm not gonna complain...just not counting on that. If that fails....then I'll just wait it out and use up the pads....maybe a few days at the track will help with that!
Thanks,
J
