Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I've been told you either have to replace the blower or you can lubricate the bushings.

Is it possible that it is an actuator that uses vacuum to control/direct airflow?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I thought it was just my car that made this high pitched squeal when the ac is on and at a stoplight. I drove my brothers 911 and the same thing happened. It's weird? It goes away if i tap on the throttle.
Sometimes it's very LOUD. Any clue?
thanks,
bao
This doesn't fit with tapping the throttle, but I sometimes get a whine from the A/C fan. Goes away if I manually adjust the fan speed. Might want to try that as well.
I haven't tried to fix it yet, but assume that lubricating the fan should cure the problem.
I get the same sound when the fan is cranked all the way. I turn it down one notch and it disappears. Almost as if the sound is as a result of the air trying to escape the cabin.
yes i get that too and it goes away if you put the fan on recirculating. The sound comes from the air squeezing through the car door seem or somewhere else it can escape from. Try putting it on recirc to eliminate that from the possibilities list and then let us know.
I've got the same problem...and Ive chased it down to the fresh air blower in the front. It usually only starts when you increase the speed of the fan.....if you back it off, sometimes the squeel will go away. I've been told you either have to replace the blower or you can lubricate the bushings.
Does your noise come from the area of the dash or the front firewall? If you can get it to squeal for you in your garage, open the hood and see if you can isolate the area of the screeching....I think you'll see it's that dogone fresh air blower.
HAHAHa! only my wife was in the car.... But it also happened without her so i know it's not her.
It's exactly as chuck described. it's coming from the front either from the firewall or the dash. I'll have to check up on that.
Thanks guys
i get something similair... sounds like a flapping noise... almost like when you have the sunroof open and you hear the whoomp whoomp whoomp of the air flow.
Only when it is really hot though and the a/c is on max with recirc on (i believe). think it is normal. maybe has to do with the vacuum hoses closing the outer recirc vents?
