Suggestion

H&R informed me that depending on the wheels you run, even if they have stock offsets, sometimes there wont be enough surface of the original hub when you run the 7mm spacers to get them completely centered, thus the wobbling.

Suggestion

The reason is that the smaller sizes still use the existing hub to center the wheel, whereas the larger spacers have their own "built-in" hub that the wheel actually sits on.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

YES! Do not attempt to use the spacers with the stock bolts. Some spacers come with the longer bolts.

POST 3Original post

If you are getting 7mm spacers, you should consider hub centric ones. My 7mm work just fine on my 17" track rims, but cause wobbling on my 18" streets. I have to run my 18"s without the spacers... -td

POST 4Original post

Also, you have to be somewhat careful even with hubcentric 7mm spacers, as they too can cause wobbling if you have a non-stock or low-quality wheelset. I bought a set of H&R 7mm spacers for my car and I could not get rid of the wobble. Oddly enough, the larger sizes (such as the 14 mm I eventually went with) had no wobble whatsoever. The reason is that the smaller sizes still use the existing hub to center the wheel, whereas the larger spacers have their own "built-in" hub that the wheel actually sits on. H&R informed me that depending on the wheels you run, even if they have stock offsets, sometimes there wont be enough surface of the original hub when you run the 7mm spacers to get them completely centered, thus the wobbling. I have it on good authority that if you run stock rims (which as everyone knows, are actually great quality), or other high-end wheels, you will be fine. I have carrera five-spoke knock offs, and I couldn't get them to work. Anyone wanna buy some spacers with bolts?

POST 6Original post

Yes, the Porsche 7mm spacer kit I bought came with longer lug bolts.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the opinions guys. I have ordered the 15mm kit (with loner bolts) for the rear. I wll put them on the car and see how it looks/drives. If I can get away without the fronts, I will.
