As JC3D points out, the quality and fit of the wheel dynamics products are excellent - I have visited them in N LA and seen the products first hand, and met the guys who run the company as well as being Porsche fanatics.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A company called wheel dynamics. They sell what appear to be decent replica wheels. I have heard great things about wheel enhancement and know they sell OEm wheels for Porsche. Wheel Dynamics sells what appear to be knock offs they claim are built in the same factory as techart, etc. Any opinions?

POST 2Original post

I just bought a set a couple days ago, They had them custom painted for me for not much extra and had excellent customer service throughout the whole process. If you search on here, you will find other happy customers on this forum. If you are looking for lighter, forged wheels for racing, then wheel enhancement can help you out, but good looking wheels at a good price, I'd give them a call. Pics are coming next week after I take some this weekend.

POST 3Original post

I do not have their wheels but from what I understand they make Porsche replicas for less $$. They have been described as being heavier than stock (do a search). Many (on this board) seem to have used them with no issues so if you just want a "look" I'd guess that they would be fine for the street. However (and this is just my opinion) I wouldn't put heavy cheap wheels on my car to save a few bucks.....

POST 4Original post

When I have 2 sets of wheels and one never sees any crazy driving, I don't mind saving a few bucks.

POST 5Original post

I am in the market for new wheels for my 996 (note 5 spoke chromies that came with the car when I bought it - not for Porsche these wheels scream at me). I just looked at Wheel Dynamics website and the first impression I got was that they will not carry wheels that are for Porsche's, I mean I see the same brands they have at wheel shops around here and the wheels are all bling: Asanti, Jesse James, Diablo, DUB (I see these a lot on Escalades etc. with there diamond studded 22 or 24 logos on the side). But before I come to any conclusion about this place, what wheels are you looking at? Have you spoken to them? What background do they have about the differences in narrow body and wide body? I have already made contact with Wheel Enhancement, and I had a good discussion with Damon at the Tire Rack, and now I have a lot of information about what will and what won't work with a 996 (specifically a narrow body). I would want the same comfort zone with Wheel Dynamics before I buy from them. However, it is really up to you at the end of the day and the driving force maybe cost, because once you get into 3 piece forged 19's (i.e. OZ, BBS) they get pretty expensive (usually 1K per wheel). Liek a previous reply, the lower cost wheels usually weigh more meaning more braking use etc. needed. Now you may find a good looking wheel and tyre package that works for you, I would just make sure that after-sale service is available, something you get with the more expensive wheel. Just my 2 cents....

POST 6Original post

the offsets and sizing is probably gonna suck too and u have no way of holding these guys accountable for it since they're likely going to talk out of their **** and justify the quality/fitment of the wheels based on how many other clueless souls they've sold to in the US. for all that hard earned money you're spending, stay stock or if going aftermarket... -Get a forged set from a reputable manufacturer (used ones are fine so long as they're in good shape and weren't disassembled and messed around with) -Make sure the offset/width are spot on so they fit flush with the fender, but don't rub when lowered with proper tire sizing Else, don't bother buying $300 per wheel aftermarket wheels because they look worse and are of lesser quality than the OEM wheels in most if not all cases.

POST 7Original post

Benjamin, I concur with your input as I have learned from the best

POST 8Original post

Ben, in this case - it is probably you who may be 'talking out of your ****' as you have zero experience of the company, staff, or their products. As JC3D points out, the quality and fit of the wheel dynamics products are excellent - I have visited them in N LA and seen the products first hand, and met the guys who run the company as well as being Porsche fanatics. Of course, if you feel the need to portray these individuals in a negative way, having never met them, that's your call. Same with the wheels - however, I can say that fit finish and quality were excellent, and that the WD team know their offsets and tire sizes. I had a lengthy talk about Porsche wheels, where they are manufactured, the different factories that produce Porsche branded wheels, the variation in Porsche quality between those factories/manufacturers. Buying Porsche does not guarantee you any superior quality, as qualified by the two manufacturers that produce the Carrera S Lobster Claws - they look identical, are both Porsche wheels, but one is soft and damages easily simply by driving over pot-holes. So, by all means tout the old 'you get what you pay for' idiom, but don't put a company, it's staff, and it's products down - not withstanding it's excellent reputation, when you are so plainly ignorant in all respects. WD are a great source of after-market wheels - and come with a high personal recommendation.

POST 9Original post

Well Said....The guys over at WD do know their stuff. May not be OE wheel, but great for the daily street driving. Have you seen pot holes lately in Toronto

POST 10Original post

I have some wheels from them and they are great. They might be a little heavier but, since I don't race, it isn't such a big deal.

POST 11Original post

Porsche OE wheels (in general) are just ok quality wheels. They are not exceptionally light or strong and are generally just cast wheels. If you want to put a wheel on for "looks" the WD wheels are probably fine. However, if you want a genuine improvement in performance over an OE wheel (weight, strength, etc.) you're best bet is to purchase a set of forged wheels from a mfg like BBS, Champion, Fiske, etc. (IMO).
